Must admit, she was a bit blue by the time I pulled her out.

Well that was a trying hour, decided to close some processes via the task master....not to be recommended. Things stopped working!! Tried various things then called my PC man and whilst he was telling me that XP sometimes self repairs but if it didn't would have to reinstall the lot. Then it started working on its own apparently self repaired...lucky, like Choccy's cat!!
Must leave well alone. Ready for a Guinness :-))

Greystone - 26 Feb 2005 23:22 - 1417 of 24230

Oh well. Real Madrid lost yet again. Poor Owen never got to see the ball. :-(

Still, there's an upside to every day. It was the cafe owners' wife's birthday so we all got free tapas and a laaaarge brandy (or two) to celebrate the event. :-)

Headache in the morning and serve me right....

chocolat, I trod on my guinea pig when I was a lad, actually it was more like I stomped on it, I ran down the garden and it ran out across the path and I could not avoid it, I still feel bad about it even though it was about 35 years ago !

MightyMicro - 27 Feb 2005 01:31 - 1420 of 24230

We've got a a guinea pig (untrodden upon) called Daisy. I'm trying to get her a date with Mr Snuffles, Emily Marr's guinea pig (daughter of Andrew Marr). Any one got Mr Snuffles' phone number?

Good morning from Gloucestershire. I was supposed to be off to Kent today but have been warned off by my Bro' that the place is pretty well snowbound and getting worse. Seems incongruous because here it is bright sunshine, a lovely day. But if anyone should know what Kent is like, he should so I am taking his advice and staying put.

Might just partake of a FEB having got up early and psyched myself up for a days driving. Ah well, that's life.

Spaceman - 27 Feb 2005 08:33 - 1422 of 24230

Socs, we have snow in Hastings and its still snowing and I just heard that the M20 is closed in Kent near Maidstone so its probably pretty bad there. Strangly although Kent does not get bad snow very often there have been several times over the years where when it has had snow it has been very bad and the army has had to be used to rescue people.

East Anglia is similar and if the snow approaches from a certains North Easterly angle they both get major dumps, not very common but it does happen.

I have to drive up to Sevenoaks later so I hope it gets better during the day.

Derek, as a frequent traveller to the US you could try registering Daisy with http://www.animalattraction.com she probably wont get together with Mr Snuffles but you never know.

If Emily's ears are anything like Andrew's I shouldn't bother, MM - just give her a shout.

jeffmack - 27 Feb 2005 09:56 - 1424 of 24230

Not much snow here in Bexley, just a very light covering overnight. So Sevenoaks might be OK.

Spaceman - 27 Feb 2005 10:45 - 1425 of 24230

cheers Jef, its melting here in Hastings now.

little willie - 27 Feb 2005 11:24 - 1426 of 24230

Socs
No snow here but my cousin flew back early yesterday, lives near Maidstone and was worried re snow and getting home.
Lives in some god forsaken tiny hamlet,Easterfield near East Malling;
just rec'd email they got back ok last night but this am they have a lot of snow, 2" and as he was writing the snow was still falling.

Anyone want 32 degrees, no clouds, nil humidity, gentle breeze, warm pool,
cold beers, chilled champers & sauvignon blanc by the bucketful?
This would cure Jessies cold.

NB. And Hickey wants to go skiing!

Beautiful day on Anglesey. COME ON YOU REDS!!

MightyMicro - 27 Feb 2005 12:23 - 1429 of 24230

No snow here in deepest East Berkshire. I used to think it was because we were in the Met office triangle in this area -- so the weather mysteriously disappeared . . .
