ASOS: BUY AT LOW PRICE!!!! (ASC)

wilco99 - 12 Sep 2003 15:52

ASOS have dropped quite significantly in the past week for no particular reason and I view this as the perfect opportunity to invest as I can see them bouncing right back up to the 5.50p mark in the next 2-3 weeks. STRONG BUY!!

Walk ups are rare, walk downs are very common place.....

175K Broker to Broker trade also just shown up!!! Premium to OFFER price.....

Could see 60s and 70s very very soon....Basically proof that the stock is back in FASHION! :)00

lastminute.com bid approach shows value still there in internet companies. ASOS are already profitable, increasing hits rapidly (I think 100% year on year) and presumably, with the surplus stock problem in the past now trading with larger volumes and recovered margins. The new warehouse will further help margins. Am aiming to build my stake up gradually as funds permit to last year's level - basically a second coming!

Fashion group ASOS rose 5p to 51p, amid rumours that a positive statement will be published in the next few weeks.

EWRobson - 13 May 2005 17:15 - 1426 of 5941

Another good day for ASOS. Charts looking good. Left instructions to buy a half slug (1 slug = 3000), 51.5p. Checked before the golf match and SEO had freed up enough for another half slug at 52p. Building a nice position. Can see a golden cross ahead, can you? Will try to continue accumulating but need to take funds out to buy wife's car on Friday - a Toyota 1.3l GS Yaris Versa; funny looking but she's really excited which is great. That's 2 motability cars in 2 weeks, with 12K and 19K miles respectively. On a roll! Even won my match with 3 ft putt for the match taking 2 circuits of the hole before succumbing. Can life get much better than this!

Don't get your hopes to high for the Golf Challenge! See the golf thread.

Peter: Mark has revealed all! 260 yard drives; eagle at the last; full-time golfer for seven months with share picking as a hobby. I'm only coming for the food and red wine! Oh, and of course the company!

Interesting that apparent leaks refer to positive trading statement in 'several weeks'. The obvious time is a week or so after the Q end, ie early July. That gives plenty of time for rumour and the warehouse move to be completed and bedded down. Predict the sp will gradually rise; by the time we get to the announcement a golden cross will be imminent and the sp will accelerate to recover the late autumn levels. Good time to ACCUMULATE.

Don't worry too mucj Eric, the golf pretty well unravelled today after been four over after 7 holes (gross). My small spreadbet didn't quite pick the bottom (if that is indeed where you have leapt back in) but 10% too high. Hopefully, though we can get back to where I predicted all those months ago (90p) and both my bet and investment will be nicely in profit.

EWRobson - 14 May 2005 22:32 - 1430 of 5941

Its nice to get the bottom but it is fairly risky. I have done both: first at the bottom, 42.5p but have trebled the holding since so average is up to 48p. With SEO on an uptrend, I am investing the margin (CFD) in ASC. Have spread my bets over the two!

Foolishly entered for the Club open tomorrow - two rounds; interested to see whether I can last the pace. Respectibility is primary objective! Your best to have a rest from golf until the MoneyAM challenge! lol! Chance would be a fine thing!

Eric

I seem to be following your moves. Having finally worked out how CFD's work I too opened one in SEO which almost immediately produced a result, which after some thought I have rolled into one in ASC as I am expecting good results. So, both are currently running...next question is what, or where, to go when the money becomes available?
Not into golf, prefer to potter around in the garden!

What a lovely problem! Would be pleased to help you solve it! lol!

Independent

Asos in fashion

Shares in the online fashion retailer Asos certainly perked up last week. They gained more than 20 per cent on word that a bullish trading statement is on the way. Asos is currently setting up a new 70,000 sq ft warehouse to replace three separate plants.

EWRobson - 16 May 2005 09:58 - 1434 of 5941

Good spot, marketmaker. No effect on price though. Perhaps nobody reads it, except you!

there seems to be some significant off-loading by the market-makers after walking this sp up,nearly 2 million shares now over the last few trading days.
we all know how much they want are hard earned cash, hopeing for good news!
good luck all.

ASOS has updated the look and feel of it's website....

250 for a pair of jeans?!

EWRobson - 19 May 2005 13:50 - 1437 of 5941

Like it, marketmaker, especially the girls! Easy to navigate and build a shopping basket, although I didn't do that. Ahead of the comptetition, girls? No sign of sales so hopefully those are in the past and margins are being restored.
