Brexit will cost 100,000 jobs, Cabinet minister warns

By Steven Swinford, Deputy Political Editor
3 May 2016 • 12:01am

A Brexit will cost up to 100,000 jobs while the NHS and other public services will face significant cuts, a Cabinet minister has warned.

Greg Hands, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, said in an article for The Telegraph that the Single Market is the "most complete commitment to free trade that exists" and that alternatives are just "fantasy".

His intervention will fuel accusations from eurosceptic Conservatives that the campaign to keep Britain in the European Union is relying on negative "Project Fear" tactics to try to win the referendum.

It 's about the future , the eu is in decline as the newer countries basically can't support themselves putting more pressure on the larger countries , plus the influx of mass immigration on countries is unsustainable but seemingly impossible to stop . Throwing money at problems a la Merkel is papering over cracks . If they don't reform for the better now they never will . A straightjacket is all we can look forward to remaining in the eu , and more and more legislation .

jimmy b - 03 May 2016 08:20 - 1478 of 12628

Brexit will affect climate change ! that's a good one, Britain will forever have a haze of smog over it for leaving the EU.
Oh i forgot and global poverty . Not sure how but it would .

iturama - 03 May 2016 08:23 - 1479 of 12628

Yes, if we leave we will probably be banned from the Champions League, Olympics and Tour de France. It also goes without saying that Brits will have to pay more to visit the Eiffel Tower and Colloseum. As for speaking English in public places within the rump of the EU - God forbid.

I'm thinking of making an air raid shelter for the back garden , I've stocked up on tinned stuff .

No matter how you want to dress it up, it was Labour who
reverted to using PFI to build the schools and hospitals that
was needed through their mass open door immigration policies
and the commitments placed on the country by being a member
of the EU.

We can argue till the cows come home about why we are relying
on foreign firms to build infrastrcture projects, but whether or
not we're in the EU makes not one iota of difference, simply because
it's a business deal, China aren't in the EU...Not yet!.

Major leak from Brussels reveals NHS will be ‘KILLED OFF’ if Britain remains in the EU

A MAJOR leak from Brussels has revealed the NHS will be killed off if Britain remains in the European Union.

By David Maddox

PUBLISHED: 06:05, Tue, May 3, 2016 | UPDATED: 08:12, Tue, May 3, 2016

Hundreds of papers from the secretive trade talks between the US and EU have been released online.

They appear to confirm fears that the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership talks between Brussels and Washington will, when ratified, lead to the health service being privatised or dismantled.

The documents, obtained by Greenpeace Netherlands, include a US proposal to have a committee with representatives from Washington and Brussels to meet each year “to review state-owned enterprises and monopolies” which would include the NHS.

The committee would meet annually and would not be guaranteed a representative from Britain.

NHS will be killed off , of course it will and everybody's teeth will fall out ,disease will be rampant and London will look like the Black Death again ,people will be wandering the streets at night like zombies looking to eat each other .

Max,

You are beginning to believe your own propaganda.

Is it wishful thinking.

MaxK - 03 May 2016 08:57 - 1486 of 12628

Do you know what TTIP is Fred?

iturama - 03 May 2016 09:02 - 1487 of 12628

I have heard from reliable sources that if we leave Brits will no longer be able to occupy the sunbeds nearest the sea (they will be reserved for Germans) and that our national dress of socks and sandals will be banned from all coastal resorts. You will still be able to get the Daily Mail but only in a brown bag, for which you will pay an extra one Euro.

will10 - 03 May 2016 09:16 - 1488 of 12628

Grannyboy

Wasn't trying to score political points,
Labour or Tory need a strong economy to make the country run.

Economics apply.
Migration into the UK is necessary we need migrant nurses, doctors software engs etc.etc
Even you must accept that. We can't have zero nett incomming migration.

New hospitals schools have to replace old. The vast majority of the 60 million odd here need new facilities.

What's your point.??

Too many blame everything on migration.

jimmy b - 03 May 2016 09:28 - 1489 of 12628

will ,
Migration into the UK is necessary we need migrant nurses, doctors software engs etc.etc
----------------

Yes we need those people on a points based system ,not hundreds of thousands of unskilled workers .
Every day coaches are arriving at Victoria Station The Romanian Express ,double deckers towing trailers one after another bringing in everybody and anybody .

VICTIM - 03 May 2016 09:28 - 1490 of 12628

Very concerning that someone needs to spend their job time on a BB than getting on with their job , maybe just a dreamer really .

cynic - 03 May 2016 09:34 - 1491 of 12628

exactly that jimmy

i saw somewhere in w/e press that a number of member countries would be very happy to join uk in an "eu outer circle", but confess i can't remember where i saw the article - and didn't get round to reading it either

Fred1new - 03 May 2016 10:21 - 1492 of 12628

Max,

MaxK - 03 May 2016 10:28 - 1493 of 12628
