Lambykins's Dutch Coffee House - ADULTS ONLY (LAMB)

Spaceman - 28 Jan 2005 23:56

CLOSED - THANKS to all customers for the last few years

loadsadosh - 01 Mar 2005 11:57 - 1492 of 24230

Ah! Bunny at last a familiar face, even if you are fetching the meatballs out of the oven with your little white scut uppermost, I'v only just arrived at this alternative establishment have taken this long to drag the Budha all the way over here. Will find a corner in which to indulge myself with some of your spaghetti and mushrooms then i'll have a look around for somewhere to put my slippers.

Priscilla - 01 Mar 2005 12:29 - 1493 of 24230

Well there must be something wrong! I was crediting all the callers to my mobile as having the extra brain cell in realizing my landline was down. (Well, most were female!) But it appears BT have re-routed all my calls to the mobile which sort-of tells me they're not planning on rectifying the fault in the immediate future.....! My landline now has a 'pulsing' dial tone instead of silence, but it is still useless for all practical purposes.

Large kir....and a couple of those yummy parmesan biscuits, please!

Priscilla - 01 Mar 2005 13:14 - 1494 of 24230

Opto: seems a big power failure at Redbus could be responsible for our outages.

Another kir, please......! Nothing else to do until phone line comes back properly.

Spaceman - 01 Mar 2005 13:30 - 1495 of 24230

Global Flyer now over the atlantic at 44000 feet, travelled about 3500 miles and should be in africa in about 90 minutes.

optomistic - 01 Mar 2005 13:51 - 1496 of 24230

Telewest email problems appear to be resolved.

stockbunny - 01 Mar 2005 14:03 - 1497 of 24230

Loads - hello! Long time no see, how's things?
You can put the buddha wherever you wish and your slippers can
always sit by the log fire to keep warm. :>)

Opto - ah-ha - communications back now?

Priscilla - 01 Mar 2005 14:07 - 1498 of 24230

Not here, sadly. Telephone still making pulsating ring-tone sounds.

stockbunny - 01 Mar 2005 14:10 - 1499 of 24230

Hmmm well it is Spring Priscilla...could it be a
mating call from your phone in the hope of connecting with
a suitable mate?
;>)

Seriously, it's not funny at all and I hope they resolve it
quickly for you - it's at moments like these that the world
and its mother always tries to get hold of you!

snoball - 01 Mar 2005 14:38 - 1500 of 24230

Priscilla, a pulsing dial tone means you have a message. Dial 1571 and delete it. The pulsing will change to continuous and your modem will be able to dial out again.
Well that's what happens on my BT 'phone.

Priscilla - 01 Mar 2005 14:46 - 1501 of 24230

How curious! I don't have call minder or BT answer, so that's very perplexing but I did try your suggestion and the example they gave of the pulsating dial tone was exactly what I have. So I'm even more bewildered than before! But I can now dial out it would appear. I just have to live with a weird dial tone.

My modem never cut out....it's the happy bit. The voice line went dippy but the internet was fine.

Spaceman - 01 Mar 2005 14:56 - 1502 of 24230

I still hate work....

Priscilla - 01 Mar 2005 15:00 - 1503 of 24230

Those of us in the coffee house are going to have LDC for tea, Spaceman.....don't you wish you were free to join us?!

edit: ....with extra drizzle, by special request.

Don't worry, I bet Ian T will eat your slice, Spacey.....

stockbunny - 01 Mar 2005 15:29 - 1504 of 24230

Yes a slice would go down well with my cup of tea
Priscilla - thanks! :>)

stockbunny - 01 Mar 2005 16:14 - 1505 of 24230

little willie - 01 Mar 2005 16:29 - 1506 of 24230

What ho all, just back from afternoons racing at Durbanville, beautiful
weather, small crowd but good racing. Lost about Rand 250 ie 24!

MAIN NEWS! Our trainer Glen Cotzen brought a couple of 2 yr olds plus our "Sweet Revenge" down for her second gallop on grass and she went really well.

She runs in her very first proper race, the 12.40 at Durbanville [Cape Town]
this coming Saturday, 1000 metres.
Trainer doesn't want her to win as the handicapper will hit her if she does, but, if she really hits the front hard then so be it.
Don't put your shirt on it but Jessie/DD it might be worth an each way swindle.

Oh God are we getting excited!!
