There you go Al the Wal Mart results

Wal-Mart Stores Inc Wal-Mart profit rises 13.4%; sales up 8.6%
LONDON (AFX) -- Wal-Mart Stores earned $3.6 billion, or 86 cents a share in
the fourth quarter -- a jump of 13.4 percent from the $3.2 billion, or 75 cents
a share in the year-ago period. Those figures include a 2-cent a share tax
benefit. Revenue came in at $90.13 billion while net sales rose 8.6% to $89.3
billion. Same-store sales rose 3.1%. The average estimate of analysts polled by
Thomson First Call had been for Wal-Mart to earn 83 cents a share on revenue of
$90.46 billion. The Bentonville, Ark.-based company said it expects profits in
fiscal 2007 to come in between $2.88 to $2.95 a share -- just shy of the current
Wall Street view of $2.98. Shares of Wal-Mart ended the Friday session down
about 1% at $46.10.

Thanks for that Driver, but I was thinking more about the commentary that they usually put after the numbers. You know, the blow by blow account of how next year will be better cos they have started to use the paperclip stockpile that doesn't appear on the balance sheet, thereby reducing administrative expenses?
Don't know what time the full report will be available or quite where to get it, but I'm not expecting any leads from it anyway.
Thanks though, Driver.

Al
You can make that bit up and put it on the end.

kimoldfield - 21 Feb 2006 13:06 - 14937 of 27111

You can get the full results from the Wal-Mart Home site Alan. There does not seem to be a mention of Stanelco; the only possible relevant part that I could see (probably has no relevance at all!) was this :

In connection with the development of our grocery distribution
network in the United States, we have agreements with third par-
ties which would require us to purchase or assume the leases on
certain unique equipment in the event the agreements are termi-
nated. These agreements, which can be terminated by either party
at will, cover up to a five-year period and obligate the company to
pay up to approximately $163 million upon termination of some
or all of these agreements.
There are no recourse provisions which would enable us to
recover from third parties any amounts paid under the above
guarantees. No liability for these guarantees has been recorded
in our financial statements.

Don't know what it means really!

SEO -as yet- do not have an agreement with Wallmart. If there was one we would have seen a RNS in the past. So your 14937 must relate to other supply contracts

kimoldfield - 21 Feb 2006 14:20 - 14939 of 27111

Yea, just wishful thinking, the "unique equipment" got me excited! (My wife says something like that about our milkman)

Evening all, nice to see that I'm not alone in my view of Classyglassys postings... Couldn't believe that anyone would seek out my last four postings and abuse me accross multiple threads! Hence to say I have now squelched my first person on this BB.

Times are looking up for SEO, with Greenseal and Starpol combined SEO now have a full package to offer clients. Another revenue line has been created, and SEO could well possibly offer a discount to help push into the marketplace greenseal off the back of Starpol or vice versa.

The below I received by email today which I found amusing. Apologies to all who dispise funnies on this thread but I couldn't resist!!!

Imagine if all major retailers started making their own condoms and keeping the same tagline............

> > Sainsbury Condoms - making life taste better
> > Tesco Condoms - every little helps

> > Muller light condoms - so much pleasure, but where's the pain.
> > Flash condoms - Just sit back, relax and let flash do all the hardwork.
> > Halford condoms - we go the extra mile.
> > Royal Mail condoms - I saw this and thought of you.
