Opto,
We were in Val d'Isere last Xmas. My husband was parking the car when he drove over what looked like snow, only to find that the snow was covering a large rock which ripped the petrol filter from the underside of the car. There was petrol gushing out everywhere.
There was only one garage for miles. They came out, collected the car, repaired it within 24 hours and opened up on Xmas morning for us to collect. How much? 50 (or under 40) ..... we were amazed as we had been expecting at least another zero on the end of the bill.
On the same holiday, I had to be rescued from the mountain on the "Blood Wagon" (a stretcher on skis, piloted by a suicide freak). That 5 minute journey cost nearly 300!!!

Hilary
You would have to pay me a lot more than 300 to do a suicide run.

Welllll..... so lucky tonite, soooooo lucky...twice. First 'white van man' flashes me (in his carrrrr..) I drop from 120 to 30 mph in like 3 secs and get my seat belt on and yes, there from the hedge comes the little man, so I smile sweetly into his camera for him as I woft pass, yes woft like that, woft.. so BIG thanks to little whitey vanny manny!
Then do the M25 in horrendous traffic, finally manage to do some speed then I decide to come off early as more congestion signs, so swerve across to exit but as i go into slow lane, traffic has built up and suddenly there was nowhere to go....fortunately tiny bit of hard shoulder so I had to squeeze round this guy and pulled up next to him. Although I smiled and waved I was s...... myself, little heart pounding. He didnt wave back and lets face it, I could have been on top of his car.....Anyway someone looking out for me today, better leave in a minute for Clitheroe so I can drive slow!!!!!!!!
Need that cuddle now, ummmmmmmm back in my comfort zone

Cuddle first you need one after that journey. Extra large B & C if you're not to drink a lot for a whole day!! Drive carfully through Lancashire the traffic police are not known to be friendly. Miseries :-((

I am from Yorkshire Amber but have spent a lot of time driving into 'the other side' Take care the cameras are not always 'fairly sited' I now of several that are painted black and nicely hidden behind overgrown trees, I think they must have an arrangment with the owners not to prune them!!
