Morning Amber, 2 hours for coffee, that is a lot of coffee, bet you had to stop again in half hour :-))
See any speed cameras?

amberjane - 03 Oct 2004 12:09 - 15165 of 23498

I hope I've escaped them all Opto but yes saw quite a few, didnt take my car though so that helped!!!

jj50 - 03 Oct 2004 12:40 - 15166 of 23498

Amber, good morning. You should have come to my hotel. They were locking up as I arrived back but was given key to fire escape!!! Thought of coming back to meet you but fell on to my corrugated mattressed bed instead - four poster would have been much better. Despite getting train at crack of dawn it was delayed for three hours at Lancaster (as we had gone through a red light), so "stuff" saving the environment, back in to my car again for the next twenty years!!! It would be good to meet up again. Trying to recall chap who lives near you!!

Think you're right opto. I used to work on 20% whereas they inferred much less than 5%. I am also not trading CFDs yet (intend to) so have stamp duty to consider and all strong advice favoured trading Dow not FTSE. It was interesting though. I have liked the CGT advantages of AIM but don't think most would touch them.

amberjane - 03 Oct 2004 13:01 - 15167 of 23498

Jen, hope he doesnt read that, 'trying to recall chap...' :>) I know what you mean., met so many people, he was the tall dark handsome charming one! (just in case he does read this!) no he doesnt really post so just didnt want to mention his name, nothing else. Sorry you had trouble with your journey, yes I should have taken your mobile, you could have come for breakfast, with the hotel empty there was room...the even greater thing was... edit sorry(sending sep email)!

Hello Socs

chocolat - 03 Oct 2004 15:22 - 15170 of 23498

Wet all round then.
G'dafternoon boys.
Mind you, it was even wetter last night as we stood shin deep in water down the cellar 2 hours before the big invasion...a bit of a pump-nonfunction moment, that was.

Socrates - 03 Oct 2004 15:28 - 15171 of 23498

Chelte'

Sputnik - 03 Oct 2004 16:14 - 15172 of 23498

Good afternoon folks

It was great to meet everyone at Clitheroe, I agree it is nice to put a face to the name, and Lads the Girls from this thread are certainly not the over 65 ex school mistress type like everyone imagined, trading just got a whole lot better.

jj50 - 03 Oct 2004 16:20 - 15173 of 23498

Sputnik - Have just spent the afternoon putting in stop losses - it should kill two birds with one stone - a much needed consolidation of my portfolio and getting rid of a few of those "donkeys""!

Advice much appreciated even if my interpretation of it is a bit "loose" - things will be "flying" out of the exit door by next Friday. Please pass on my best wishes to Ruth. Her e-mail isn't "enabled" but I shall be in touch. Regards and thanks to all in the NW :-)

The lorries were filled with cases of Cadbury's products

Seven lorries containing chocolate worth about 500,000 have been stolen during a robbery in Lancashire.
Two security guards were threatened and tied up by a gang at the Great Bear Distribution Centre in Skelmersdale at 0130 BST on Sunday.

About five men, some wearing ski masks and carrying coshes, held the guards in a field five miles away until 0600 BST.

Seven trailers, each containing about 80,000 worth of Cadbury's goods including Easter eggs, were stolen.

Four have since been found empty.

None of the men were hurt, but Lancashire Police said they were "obviously shaken up" after their ordeal.

Two guards were initially bundled into a "large dark saloon" , possibly a Ford Mondeo, and driven about five miles from the centre on the Stanley Industrial Estate to a nearby egg farm.

The robbers then found a third man sleeping in a lorry and took him to the field as well.

Lancashire Police want anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to get in touch.

Of the three lorries which are still missing, one is described as mustard-coloured with P&O Ferrymasters on the side curtains, the second has McBurney Transport on it and the third says Profresh Solutions.

snoball - 03 Oct 2004 23:10 - 15179 of 23498

If there is any white chocolate missing I can guess who has got it.

chocolat - 03 Oct 2004 23:11 - 15180 of 23498

A Mondeo, huh? Looks like mg's been rumbled then. ;)

snoball - 03 Oct 2004 23:15 - 15181 of 23498

Well done in the game Socs. I see we ended up in profit. Inspired leadership.

Well done the winners.

Good morning campers. What a fine holiday its turning out to be, rain lashing at the windows, wind howling around the gables and cold as a bailiffs knocker. All in all, a perfect day to stay at home. Unfortunately that's something I can't do.

Never mind, teas in the pot and breakfast is ready.
