Coffee please, Socs! I don't understand Bollinger Bands in great detail but, at the AGM, I did meet Churchy from the ADVFN thread, who says they are a terrific guide to DYS share movements. He has been right EVERY time over the past couple of years. Every time the bands tighten...off it goes! That is the only 'normal' pattern I can discern. No news that I know of.

Whatever the 'pattern' is, my PEP/SIPP and ISA look better this morning as a result.....

How's the world treating you?

Socrates - 04 Oct 2004 08:27 - 15187 of 23498

Priscilla
Coffee it is. I just love those old Bollinger Bands. I don't understand how they work fully but there is no doubt with DYS that the normal pattern is a narrowing of the bands for anything up to a couple of months, followed by a break up or down.

I couldn't discern from my charts whether it would be up or down, probably looking at the wrong indicators, but my gut feeling, based on a very gradual price increase over a couple of months was that it would be upwards. Lets hope that price holds throughout the day.

Milk or cream?

Priscilla - 04 Oct 2004 08:34 - 15188 of 23498

Just black, please. Just off out for a couple of hours in a minute which, in this weather, isn't a fun prospect.

Socrates - 04 Oct 2004 08:36 - 15189 of 23498

Wrap up well and mind how you go Priscilla.

stockbunny - 04 Oct 2004 11:13 - 15190 of 23498

Morning All!
Good to see everyone had a great time in Clitheroe..especially it sounds
like AmberJane did! ;>)

Opto - I keep finding sticky notes (Post-its) on everything with the words
STOP-LOSS!!! written on them - are you trying to tell me something? LOL
I know, one day I'll get properly organised, until then I am likely
to remain the ever air-headed bunny!! ;>)
(I just like the excitement of the uncertainity of it all you see, the react
on the spot side of things...detrimential no doubt potentially to funds I know)

OK a danish pastry will do - as we don't happen to have any other types
of Danes in the place and a pot of tea.

Socrates - 04 Oct 2004 11:31 - 15191 of 23498

Stockbunny
Where have you been all morning?

stockbunny - 04 Oct 2004 11:50 - 15192 of 23498

Morning Socs - well if you must know I have been on the virtual trolley
dash for an hour and a half, re-stocking my two sons grazing supplies, oh
yes and mine too, as I also eat LOL

How's your morning Mr Socs Sir?

Socrates - 04 Oct 2004 11:57 - 15193 of 23498

Bunny, it started off rather inclement but the sun is shining now. Mixed day in the market so far. Still too much red for my liking, but that's life.

jeffmack - 04 Oct 2004 12:02 - 15194 of 23498

Socs
Look what your comment on the ADVFN PTG thread has done to the share price.
1 by christmas

amberjane - 04 Oct 2004 12:04 - 15195 of 23498

Yes Bun, made a few days of it so it was a nice break. Missed the end of the game though but well done for the extra work on Fridays, now you can have extra tea and cakes instead :>). Yes it was great to meet Jen and Choccie after the involvement with the game and Jen stayed for the evening so we had a good chat. Also met Ruth and Supermum who I have been on the phone to nearly all morning looking at charts, different sites/packages etc. And u can guess I got the verbals about my rising time again....But I definitely feel more inspired to get cracking on this day trading and not letting my money stand still (see careful not to say 'lose') Basically need a bit more 'in and out' activity! :>) I did consolidate a bit at the beginning of the month anyhow, but then sold a big holding and divvied it up again! Naughty. Also met a chap who lives locally which was really interesting and caught up with some that I already know, so a pretty good social event I would say!!! ps yes I got your mail but u missed out some bits :>))

Socrates - 04 Oct 2004 12:10 - 15196 of 23498

Jeffmack
I very much doubt whether any of my comments affect the share price. I will be most interested to see passenger figures for KIA though.

amberjane - 04 Oct 2004 12:11 - 15197 of 23498

Hilary..Superb bit of trading there even within the constraints of the game!!!!

Lucindas, LOL, yes have to build up to my yearly visit! Her shop would do better if she wasnt there, well written. PDL :>) no more news but a little tick up, feel the need to sell half now, need a new screen (bigger so as I can see all these wiggly charts). lol

jeffmack - 04 Oct 2004 12:14 - 15198 of 23498

Socs
Dont you want to sell before they are available?

jj50 - 04 Oct 2004 12:16 - 15199 of 23498

Morning.

Jeffmack - PTG could reach 1 - I sold out again last week and that seems always to have a positive knock on effect on price :-)

Amber - see you are still living it up!! Good. Working out my risk management strategy and spent ages on charts setting stop losses - not finished yet and one big loser already flown out the door!

Bun - have sent you an e-mail. I have been busy food shopping too along with a backlog of washing - sports kit, not the best a few days later!

Can we get toasted paninis in here - quite like a toasted mozarella, tomato and basil one, washed down with a nice chilled glass of Chablis.

hilary - 04 Oct 2004 12:19 - 15200 of 23498

Hold your gems for now, Amber. It was a no-brainer that they were going to pull back after they gapped up at open on the last RNS. 1.20 by early in the new year. Imo, of course.

jj50 - 04 Oct 2004 12:21 - 15201 of 23498

Amber - just discovered you can only set 50 stop losses with comdirect - what shall I do for the rest of the alphabet?!!!

Socrates - 04 Oct 2004 12:23 - 15202 of 23498

Jeffmack
No, can't be bothered. There still seems to be some freight going through but how much post MK remains to be seen.

amberjane - 04 Oct 2004 12:33 - 15203 of 23498

JJ :>)

Hils, ummm what about that stop loss at 56p that I've just put in? Move it a little lower....it doesnt take long to think about breaking the rules!

hilary - 04 Oct 2004 12:44 - 15204 of 23498

What are rules for, if not to be broken, Amber?

:o)

Can't really help you on the stop-loss front, I'm afraid. There are simply so many differing points of view to consider that I think it's something that you best experiment with yourself. It does seem to react fondly to the sma21 atm though ...... could be a sensible starting point, imo.

amberjane - 04 Oct 2004 12:50 - 15205 of 23498

Yes Hilary - I've always been brilliant at breaking rules! Funny that u mention sma21, just where my research had taken me this morning to those charts. Need a 17in to see them though :>)
