27 Hole G0LF EVENT - Thursday 8th June 2006 (G0LF)

markusantonius - 14 Feb 2006 21:35

* M0NEY-AM G0LF DAY EVENT: 27 HOLES, INCL. SUSTENANCE & PRIZES (IN ADDITION TO M0NEY-AM SPONSORED PRIZES!) on: -
THURSDAY, 08 JUNE, 2006 *

So several months have passed... Based on the success of last Summer's Event at Longcliffe G.C., a few of you have asked me to take over the reigns from PTH and organise another G0LF M0NEY-AM DAY again based in the MIDLANDS. This is fairEST to the majority coming from all over the UK! From initial feedback (reflecting on 2005 36-Hole hot mid-Summer's day!), the popular view for a 2006 Event has been agreed, as follows: -

* Tea/Coffee on arrival.
* 9 Holes (4BBB 3/4 Stab.) Comp.
* Sandwiches/Lunch.
** 18 Holes (MAIN INDIVIDUAL (FULL HANDICAP) STABLEFORD EVENT) with M-AM and Golfing Prizes for Winners, incl. "Nearest-to-the-Pin" on the 9th. Hole and "The-Longest-Drive" on the 18th. Hole.
* 3-Course Evening Dinner (full waitress service), incl. coffee & mints + Prize Presentation/Mic. Table.

(** ADDITIONAL PRIZES from our generous SPONSORS include: - 3 months worth of Shares Magazine sent to the homes of EACH COMPETITOR every week. The Overall Winner will get The Money-AM Annual Golf Challenge Cup to keep for good plus 1 year's worth of Money-AM Level 2 service worth 357.50 + Vat. The Runner-Up and Third Placed Winners will each get a medal to keep plus 6 months' level 2.)

Venue: - H0RSLEY L0DGE G.C., Belper, Derbyshire (Championship Meadowland Course with American-type Greens). Refreshments will be in the On-Site Kingfisher Restaurant. Entry Fee is: - 60 per Competitor which will cover all of the above ** plus enough to buy some additional golfing prizes.

Markus, my club is Allestree park g.c , you may well know it.

markusantonius - 13 Mar 2006 16:05 - 154 of 505

Jeez, Fliper, you kept all this very quiet, mate - a mere "stone's throw" away! Why didn't you disclose this, from the outset? I must've played Allestree 30+ times over the years! If you email me privately, we can arrange a pre-Event social, if you wish? You are most welcome to join Predateur and possibly MG in a mid April 4BBB....

fliper - 13 Mar 2006 16:12 - 155 of 505

Markus, June is going to be the Horsley month, as I will be playing there on the 8,11 and 25.

markusantonius - 13 Mar 2006 16:34 - 156 of 505

Presume you are refering to the Mens' Open and County Division 2 Meeting?
OK, guys - so Fliper has emerged as the new bookies' favourite.....!!!

fliper - 13 Mar 2006 17:41 - 157 of 505

Is my 20-1 not on offer? and yes markus ,comps correct

EWRobson - 13 Mar 2006 19:52 - 158 of 505

marcus; what about a scratch prize; then you can leave the handicap competition to the ordinary mortals.

markusantonius - 13 Mar 2006 23:08 - 159 of 505

Mmmh, good idea, EWR - depends on what the final entry count is, in the end. I have plans for 1st. and 2nd. (and maybe 3rd.) plus NTP (9th. Hole) and LD (18th. Hole) in addition to our Sponsor's Level-2 & Medals offerings. 8 (or 9) so far is OK but come on guys, there must be more golfers out there amongst all you regular posters! BTW I received your email, Fliper. Just let us know whenever you are ready to play. Spring is almost upon us! Afternoons are no problemo to myself and Predateur (both retired).

marcus: Your languishing on page 3 so thought you needed a post (better than a KUTB!) You need news; further publicity; an RNS or AFX. There must be hosts of golfers reading these threads. Why not a good ad. which you post on the most popular threads: we had an ad. with a gorgeous female holding a golf flag just above the urinal (no, the ad, - I know she doesn't have one); all the older guys were coming out with wet pants!

markusantonius - 16 Mar 2006 13:52 - 162 of 505

edit

EWRobson - 16 Mar 2006 22:48 - 163 of 505

markus: You are down on the second page again. If you are going to post threads called 'edit' you have to do it more often. I see there are 8 paid-up members plus Fundy. Come on Fundy: need to prove your name and your prowess. Then we have half a golf course: another nine plus a 19th and a 20th and we are there. By the way, marcus, I was serious about that ad being posted on otehr threads: suggest you choose the top 10 by daily volume and advertise the attractive wares of Horsley Lodge. Driver or Bosley well help the design and we can dry run it on SEO. Need more from the SEO thread so we can weep together. Don't want these arrogant do-gooders from threads like DFD, making money out of all our debt-laden friends, which includes me.

markusantonius - 17 Mar 2006 12:53 - 164 of 505

Just heard that the Bookies have now made Fliper the new odds-on favourite... An ex-County player who has reportedly trekked up to Scotland for Lombard Qualifying Finals! A "great worker of the ball" with a short game rumoured to rank: "almost as good as The Shark's!" - now that IS scary, man! A "seasoned big match player with plenty of tournament experience...!". Also: 2006 el Kapitan of his Club's League Team! Jeez, what are we up against here, guys? Think we all might be playing for second and third spots in June?.....!!!

Bullshare - 17 Mar 2006 12:56 - 165 of 505

We are always happy to email our user base. If thats wanted, can someone email Ian with suitable wording and we will send it out next week sometime.

Markus 10/10 for homework. No mention of my shoe size !

markusantonius - 17 Mar 2006 17:21 - 168 of 505

10.

EWRobson - 17 Mar 2006 17:53 - 169 of 505

markus: Good offer from Bullshare. Suggest we take it up. I notice that nothing is secret. What was I doing at 3.15 p.m. today?

markusantonius - 17 Mar 2006 19:29 - 170 of 505

Having a golf lesson perhaps?

EWRobson - 17 Mar 2006 20:35 - 171 of 505

Not really: answer is that I was having a chipping lesson from our pro.; jolly useful, I think! Why do I wait 55 years before having a chipping lesson, one may ask? Funnily enough, I do want to get my handicap down!

markusantonius - 17 Mar 2006 23:57 - 172 of 505

Because... You saw first hand (last year at Longcliffe) the benefits of having a masterful short game. :o)
Hey, guys, Eric is practising already for the Big Event in June - our defending champion is keen to retain his title!
