Thought I'd start a football blog, we might keep this going until 2010.....England doing well....did not see the match or even the goals....I'd like Michael owen back in the squad though....and I think Peter Crouch would make a very good substitute...remember against Argentina in Geneva a few years ago....with Michael Owen and some very good movements on and off the ball...they caused havoc.....did see Scotland's missed chance....that could be very costly losing those 2 points !.

What no Beckham ?......perhaps we will not be having the boring "bang the ball into the penalty area" anymore....but some improvisation and little flick ons with back heelers for a change, !, where has total football got to ?,.....the older generation will remember fondly the Ajax and Dutch players switching positions in full flow !, (by the way do not want to sound too romantic) but that Ajax side of the early seventies in my opinion is the greatest footballing side ever !, even surpassing Brazil 1970 because they lasted longer 69-73 and were better in defence !.

Well !, we won but the germans looked poor but an away win against them is not easy so well done chaps !, talking about maradona (who was a tremendous player), : he has a cheek really !.....in 1966 it was a split second decision by the ref...ball across the line or not ...difficult to judge....in 1986 : it was plain cheating....nothing less....with a daft ref or worse.....maradona would never, never, never have got a second goal unless that first one had been awarded...the England lads had him covered until that moment.....maradona being maradona : we will always have remarks like that !.

I can never understand why the Scots are always knocking England....we might tease you lot a little but guess who I was rooting for during the world cups when Scotland was the the only home side present ?.

i dont understand why the english do not get it.........
lets compare....you always want germany to loose for obvious reasons...you forget england was the equivalent for us for hundreeds of years......quite simply football is the modern day battlefiled...england are our biggest enemy historically.......therefore whoever pumps them gets a thumbs up from me and most scots/welsh/irish
plus we have to listen to shearer etc bang on endlessly for hours about england and scotland geta footnate at the end of the programme "makes it worse on the British Boradcasting Corp"

I'll tell you what....I wish our sides would play a few games in South America now and again...they to come to Europe very often and play...it is just a quick hop across the pond...no need for a big base like in a world cup....with weeks of training !, it would improve the sharpness to be able to compete against the mights of Brazil and Argentina and likes on their home ground.....and 2014 will be held in Brazil...not that far away !.

Trigyou talk about English fans and Diego Maradona.your Scottish fans dont exactly act like Mother Teresa.Scottish soccer hooligans have had a disgusting relationship with Wembley most notoriously ripping up much of the turf and smashing up the goalposts after a extremely rare 2-1 victory in 1977.and to say a fat alcoholicdrug addicted.womanising Mafia king is a legend in Scotland dont bode well for the Scottish way of life!

UEFA CUP FINAL 2008
The leader of Glasgow City Council has admitted he was "ashamed as a Glaswegian" of the violence that marred the Uefa Cup Final in Manchester.
A Russian fan was stabbed and 15 police officers injured in the trouble.
In the most disturbing scene, a mob of Rangers fans attacked a lone police officer who had tripped and fallen.
Pc Regan said earlier the scenes after Rangers' defeat were the worst he had witnessed in 23 years with the Greater Manchester force.
