Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

dell,

all is fine at this end - sounds like for some reason your pc is struggling to load the applet - can you restart your pc and try again?

Ian,
I've shut down and brought everything up gently and it seems fine now.

Many thanks for the quick response.
Much appreciated.

Phatom orders on TATE L2

BrianTrayda - 30 Jan 2004 08:22 - 1591 of 7315

Has anybody else noticed the response time from this site is getting slower and slower, day by day? Especially stockwatch loading and streaming, and logon.
Or is it me now that I'm old. :)

IanT(MoneyAM) - 30 Jan 2004 08:24 - 1592 of 7315

BrianTrayda,

The site is running fine at the moment, can you Email me directly if you experience any further problems.

ian@moneyam.com

Thanks

Ian

Shall do Ian - I can see on the router lights that it's the response time rather than just a slow trickle problem.

BrianTrayda - 30 Jan 2004 10:36 - 1594 of 7315

Good news Ian. A problem was found at the BT Exchange and the ADSL card. They did a full reset on the card and the connection is better.

Thanks for letting me know Brian.

Forward diary does not seem to work for February as it jumps directly to March (in research)

Sonofagun - 04 Feb 2004 23:33 - 1597 of 7315

Why do we now have to refresh after posting/pressing back to list & it not appearing-already bollocked your mate on site downtime & he says it's all your fault-guess 1 of youse screwed up,the question is who & why:)))???

MightyMicro - 04 Feb 2004 23:54 - 1598 of 7315

Just checking . . .

MightyMicro - 04 Feb 2004 23:56 - 1599 of 7315

Well, I just posted and my post appeared without doing a refresh.

Sonofagun - 04 Feb 2004 23:58 - 1600 of 7315

Go back to the list & your post won't be there unless you manually refresh!

Kayak - 05 Feb 2004 00:05 - 1601 of 7315

It's just a different way of working, you'll get used to it easily. I have always had to refresh manually since I use the browser "back" key (or, in fact, the Backspace key) rather than the Back to List button. In fact it is a lot faster, even on a broadband connection, because you don't have to wait for the list to refresh. There is no need to refresh the index list every time you go back to it since little of it will have changed.

MightyMicro - 05 Feb 2004 00:41 - 1602 of 7315

Folks,

It's late and I'm at home, so I can't easily check with the engineering team, but we always used to reload the Thread list when you went BACK TO LIST. We were critised for being slower than ADVFN as a result (ADVFN does NOT refresh its thread list when you go back to it) and I believe that we may have changed the refresh policy as a result of the complaints we received.

I think it's just coincidence that you've noticed this at the same time as Jon's hardware move.

If I'm wrong, I'm sure somebody will b*ll*ck me in the morning.

Sonafagun. We(MoneyAM) made some cache changes yesterday, so 'back button' on your browser or 'back to list' in a BB thread does just that, goes back rather than 'forward'. We had a large number of people request this to speed up navigation.

Maybe we could add a 'forward to list' button for those that want a refreshed thread list?

ADVFN works like AM used to ie it refreshes when you use back to list
Thanks for explanation Bullie-at least 1 of you has come clean:))
