Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Why do we now have to refresh after posting/pressing back to list & it not appearing-already bollocked your mate on site downtime & he says it's all your fault-guess 1 of youse screwed up,the question is who & why:)))???

MightyMicro - 04 Feb 2004 23:54 - 1598 of 7315

Just checking . . .

MightyMicro - 04 Feb 2004 23:56 - 1599 of 7315

Well, I just posted and my post appeared without doing a refresh.

Sonofagun - 04 Feb 2004 23:58 - 1600 of 7315

Go back to the list & your post won't be there unless you manually refresh!

Kayak - 05 Feb 2004 00:05 - 1601 of 7315

It's just a different way of working, you'll get used to it easily. I have always had to refresh manually since I use the browser "back" key (or, in fact, the Backspace key) rather than the Back to List button. In fact it is a lot faster, even on a broadband connection, because you don't have to wait for the list to refresh. There is no need to refresh the index list every time you go back to it since little of it will have changed.

MightyMicro - 05 Feb 2004 00:41 - 1602 of 7315

Folks,

It's late and I'm at home, so I can't easily check with the engineering team, but we always used to reload the Thread list when you went BACK TO LIST. We were critised for being slower than ADVFN as a result (ADVFN does NOT refresh its thread list when you go back to it) and I believe that we may have changed the refresh policy as a result of the complaints we received.

I think it's just coincidence that you've noticed this at the same time as Jon's hardware move.

If I'm wrong, I'm sure somebody will b*ll*ck me in the morning.

Sonafagun. We(MoneyAM) made some cache changes yesterday, so 'back button' on your browser or 'back to list' in a BB thread does just that, goes back rather than 'forward'. We had a large number of people request this to speed up navigation.

Maybe we could add a 'forward to list' button for those that want a refreshed thread list?

Sonofagun - 05 Feb 2004 09:30 - 1605 of 7315

Snap Mega-it stinks!
ADVFN works like AM used to ie it refreshes when you use back to list
Thanks for explanation Bullie-at least 1 of you has come clean:))

Martini - 05 Feb 2004 10:00 - 1606 of 7315

ditto on the no refresh on back to list grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

BrianTrayda - 05 Feb 2004 11:30 - 1607 of 7315

Let It Return....I agree with Martini's noise...snarl.gif

MightyMicro - 05 Feb 2004 11:45 - 1608 of 7315

Funny thing this, personally it never bothered me -- I always open the list and right click on a thread to open it in a new window -- leaving the unrefreshed list static until I refreshed it.

Felix(MoneyAM) - 05 Feb 2004 11:51 - 1609 of 7315

There is now a 'Back' button and a separate 'Back to List' button
which works as the old one did - hopefully should address these complaints.

Thx.

kajman - 05 Feb 2004 12:34 - 1611 of 7315

But we seem to have lost the "Recent" button. :-(
Once these teckies start tinkering.......

Bullshare - 05 Feb 2004 13:02 - 1612 of 7315

kajman; Recent button is still there as far as we know, we have not removed it and can see it fine on the threads where is should appear.

kajman - 05 Feb 2004 13:23 - 1613 of 7315

Oh, I hadn't noticed that it disappears when you're at the end of the thread.

Grovelling apologies to all concerned.

Bullshare - 05 Feb 2004 13:26 - 1614 of 7315

kajman. No problems at all.

evening all,

is it just me or is there still problems with this refresh issue on this site, after you altered it last night and then changed it to meet people half way which is very good on your part:-).

If you hit the back to list button it takes it back but most of the times the unread post is still there after you have read it????am i missing something here or is there a problem:-(

To me this site has been wrecked in one foul swoop,i agree change has to come to any site but this aint progress i dont think:-(

Make me a happy bunny again please:-)
