JJS
Calm down. I am afriad many of us who have been in SEO for years have heard and seen this before and just because SEO say "will be" does not mean money in the bank. Take this for example from the 1st ASDA RNS "ASDA anticipate that
several hundred machines in its supply base will be adapted to utilise the
technology due to the significant benefits it delivers." and 18 months later we have 2-3 machines
Whilst we all believe things will be better this time it is still in many ways jam tomorrow and hype on BB's.
I mean last month everyone was excited about petal pack, the frog pack etc etc.
It all sounds good but widows and orphans avoid.
Show me the money........................

I know where you took the statement from, JJS, but it isn't fact until the deals have been signed and licenses issued, whatever SEO may have us believe.
Barney beat me to it, so I'll say no more.

Here we go again? LOL
Ambiguity within the Business wire?
"...material can be produced at a discount to conventional plastic materials such as APET and Polypropylene."
".. material will soon become an environmentally and cost effective alternative to APET and Polypropylene (PP). "
"Can" and "will soon" not quite the same thing in my book of plain English

Barney/Oblomov
First Barney, the wording you have chosen is not in the right context, the right word in that context to focus on is "anticipate", and no such wording appears in todays statement.
And for both of you. You seem to forget what investing is about.
Lesson 1:
Buy before the news and before the big money piles in and the price rockets
Lesson 2:
Sell after the news arrives and when the big money is coming in or when growth starts slowing
If you really think it's a good idea to wait for the MCap to reflect the 200m I have suggested for 50 MML's then thats just bad investing.

Agree. Where did the story re walmart & tyson originate. Can anyone substantiate, or not. We've all seen the hype before.

Johnny,
As far as I know PM1 got the info, and sent it round to his contacts.

So there is a question for you at the AGM next week, Oblo.
Were Tyson and Walmart in the UK this week talking to SEO?
If they were, then PM1's info is better than many of us give him credit for. If they were not, he is a ramping t*** who can be safely ignored!!

I have the PM1 emails. But I always treat unsubstantiated 'rumours' with caution as should everyone, this share was ramped up on unfounded gossip last year.

foxy: whilst we should probably be cautious about the WM and Tyson visit until it is confirmed, the Starpol 3 Business Wire should be taken at face value. There is nothing sinister about the use of phrases such as 'can be produced at a discount to...' and 'envisioned that this material will soon... The key sentence is 'Biotec has successfully overcome the final technical hurdles to full commercialisation in the development of its STARPOL 3000 biodegradable, rigid material.' Technical hurdles overcome allowing commercial negotiations, manufacturing planning and approval cycle initiation. The potential numbers are becoming mind-boggling. Not surprisingly, a number of cynics around. The cautious approach is to wait until later in the product development process, but no doubt the big winners 'will be' the risk-takers. {see business wire on driver's column}.

Thanks for the advice on investing, JJS, but as I'm showing a profit of some 130% on SEO in two years I dont think I really need any lessons! On those kind of profits I'm happy to sit this out for a while in the hope that some of the enourmous potential can be converted into cash.
You seem to imagine that anything either Stanelco or PM1 says can be taken as gospel. If you haven't already done so, may I suggest you read the RNS's over the past 18 months or so and then look at the reality of what followed.
As for PM1 - it is clear now you are not him as he would have become abusive by now, so apologies for suggesting you might be! Ask yourself why he has needed to retreat to the safety of his own website (after being banned everywhere else) before you trust his wild claims.
Nice gain today but still based on expectations - lets hope we can see some concrete deals soon, which will lead to income, which will lead to a sustainable SP and possibly further rise to add to my 130% profit!
Another good example of 'Stanelcospeak', Tony. I rest my case.

I've been in for 2 years now and bought at every price from 4p to 19p.
Anyone know why the Asda Greenseal conversions have not been carried out? Could it be that SEO did not invest in a number of sealing machines themselves to act as bank stock so that each Asda machine could be replaced with a ready converted one? (Obviously one of each type would be needed and could possibly be sold after the conversions were finished) If they wait for each machine to be taken out of service they will never finish. They surely should have been doing at least 2 per week. This worries me in as far as if their organisational skills are really not up to it, I cant have much faith in full exploitation. Is the method of operation of the new machnes so different that complete operator re-training is necessary?
If all the company potential rests in a few brilliant engineers and chemists and a fast talking mouth at the top, it will never flourish unless it is taken over. It needs to have well managed motivated people actually doing the grafting, no matter how big the MD's or CEO's mouth is. That applies both to the service engineers doing the converstions and the sales and marketing people.
If Starpol is successful might there not be a reason for the oil industry to buy them out. Or to copy the process, this can easily be done in countries who are not particular about patents. (Look at the pharmecutical industry)
Another thought, this (Starpol) is starch based, where does the starch come from? I suspect that sugar has a large part in it. (no doubt I will be proved wrong) Sugar has risen hugely in price due the biofuel industry starting to kick off. Renova RVA have climbed from 80 to 260 in a year making Ethanol based fuel. Sugar cane plantations are failing because of the climate change so SEO will eventually be subject to raw material cost increases.
Any thoughts on the above ramblings? (My average buying price is 17.18p)

I didn't 'anticipate' or 'might be' investing in seo. I have a big invest in seo. All I am saying is don't get caught out by unsubstantiated hype & rumours from certain quarters that may or may not be true.

Shown as a big sell (1,095,000) at 16:24, but the price has ticked up. Was that a buy, maybe?
Edited at 16:37 with:- The tick up has now gone back, so probably a sell!

rpaco,
We do not have an up to date number of machine conversions, to my knowledge. The 2 conversions were prior to technical problems which I believe we have been told were overcome (though, in view of some of the above posts, I cant remember by whom - hopefully not PM1!).
No sugar involved in starpoL to my knowledge. The starch is (or can be) taken from corn, rice, potatoes etc. Rice and corn presumably easy to produce, sustainable and cheap.

Rpaco,
I believe {from pre-close update etc} that SEO have purchased substitute sealers to increase conversion turnaround. I think that was the case since last September.
The main problem they had with the conversion rollout was the tooling issue, which we're led to believe they have overcome with the help of Birmingham Uni.
A buyout is always posible, but ~25% of shares are held in a trust for HW's son, and I'm sure most see the potential of this company so they'd have to go some to gain the shares! Not sure if the oil industry itself produces the plastics, most likeley their customers. The micro-manufacturing plants are targeted at the existing petro-plastics producers.{edit: probably the manufacturers further down the chain....memory fails me!}
The raw material for starpol is primarily PLA, this is a starch based material coming from "corn" not sugar cane.
As an aside: The price of sugar in Europe is to be reduced by ~40% over the next 4 years. This is part of the reforms imposed by the WTO against the "Sugar Regime" cartel. Of course other factors such as fuel costs will muddy the waters. But currently the sugar producers in the UK are taking the hit, which is a pretty big one, as there is stiff comptetion etc.

OBLO JJS
JJS I agree buy before the news. Which is why i bought 4yrs ago at 3p.
The actual quotation from the press release is The company is engaged in substantive commercial negotiations with a number of large end users including some of the world's biggest companies and with several converters who will be considering Micro Manufacturing Facility contracts around STARPOL 3000
Will be considering, I am considering buying a lottery ticket but I do not claim I am a millionaire
If you did not like my earlier quotation try these.....
'This is a major step forward in taking our products and technology into the US marketplace. We are excited about the prospects for Starpol 2000 as a global standard in packaging materials. We will update the market as our commercial trials take place.'
umm scrap that buy starpol 3000.
Stanelco PLC (LSE:SEO) introduces PulsLine(R), the latest intelligent, anti-counterfeit label on the market. Designed to protect against fraud and product tampering, PulsLine is currently available in the United States and United Kingdom.

A nice afternoon, and a finish on the high of the day :)
Plenty of questions for you all to ask at the AGM if you really want the answers, as the company has the ability to divulge information that should satisfy 99% of investors inquisitiveness, facts like the one's SEO hold that allow them to make the bullish statements like those in todays BW release.
I asked PM1 where he got the info on WMT+Tyson and I am happy with his reply, if you wish to check personally, I suggest you email him before the deal rolls in.
