JJS
Have emailed Paul and will ask SEO at AGM, the trouble is will we believe their reply.

I still comeback to the fact they told me in 2003 they had a deal with Sainsburys for edible sachets, i am still waiting for that.

But agree eneded on a high note and we are heading north so alls well, and i do believe it will happen just get sceptical.

17 August 2004

Stanelco PLC signs Exclusive Tray Lidding Deal with Reiser in the US

Stanelco PLC, the RF (radio frequency) applications group, is pleased to
announce that it has entered into an exclusive, non-binding heads of terms with
Robert Reiser & Co., Inc. ("Reiser") concerning the use of RF sealing technology
in Reiser's tray lidding machines in the USA and Canada. This arrangement also
includes a non-exclusive licence covering the use of Stanelco's RF technology in
thermoforming and other packaging technologies.

Reiser has been selling and servicing high-quality food processing and packaging
equipment since 1959.

In accordance with the heads of terms Reiser are targeting a minimum of 120 new
or converted machines using Stanelco's technology during the first 12 months of
the full agreement. An annual licence fee will be agreed for each machine. In
addition, Stanelco and Reiser will be working together to develop this
technology into newly designed equipment.

Ian Balchin, Chief Executive of Stanelco, said:

"We announced our technology breakthrough on 16 July, and we are particularly
pleased that Reiser has moved so quickly and positively to take the technology
forward. Our world leading sealing system will help Reiser stay at the forefront
of the packaging industry and we are excited about the potential of this
relationship going forward. We look forward to working with Reiser on the
incorporation of our technology into their tray lidding and other equipment and
helping them deliver the benefits to their customers. We continue to have active
negotiations with a number of machine manufacturers, end users and large retail
multiples concerning other territories."

here's a coincidence for you. the asda/starpol trials have failed . ( how do i know? because there has been no rns to say they were successful. this is the seo way. when it comes to nothing ....say nowt!!) there have been no further announcements re greenseal. d'ya think that's because they have been busy converting or is it because there have been no further conversions? the seo sp is dying on its arse. then ..... wanker pm1 reappears in new disguises with privy information. (do you really want to be an investor in such a leaky company?) super, wonderful starpol 2000 has been binned and replaced by magnifcent starpol 3000. the agm is coming up.
sold out last month and happy to have done so. seo is a different company when you look at it dispassionately. (try it.) it is a company that promised much, that lied to its shareholders, and it is one that has failed spectacularly to deliver.
if i'm wrong, then i'm wrong and good luck to all holders. it's just the way i see things now.

Barney, Oblo, Bos

Scepticism fully deserved but if the herd chases it up, it is possible to ride the wave (and then down again LOL)

stockdog - 25 Apr 2006 18:29 - 16169 of 27111

Speaking as an ex-chemist, sugar is not starch technically, so Starpol unlikely to be made from sugar which would need to be taken "back" a chemical stage to starch before it could be used for Starpol. Better to use corn etc.

Bos. Its interesting how we can read the same events and publicity through different eyes. Once bitten, twice shy, they say. Reckon I've twice bitten and have come back the third time! I think I have read SEO correctly though. Tremendously strong in terms of technical innovation and, I believe, also in understanding market potential; witness the homing in on food packaging and the acquisition of Biotech. The lead guys though tend to move on to ever larger pastures new without seeing the initial babies through their gestation. Its not that Greenseal is forgotten but responsibility is delegated to relatively junior staff whilst the top guys move onto the new opportunity. The ASDA deal is dwarfed by the WalMart potential - why stay in your own back yard when you can conquer the world. Is that all negative: yes if you would like to see conventional growth and the present sp justified; no if you consider the size of the enlarged opportunity and consider they might, sometime, deliver. Its like setting out to climb a little foothill to the Himalayas and not bothering about the first peak(s), continuing for the largest goal. I understand the mentality, I think, and perhaps see the plus points. But I wouldn't like to be away from the share when the breakthrough comes, which might be before long. I don't think its pie in the sky.

For Oilywag

Regarding your requests for questions to put to the directors of the company.

I don't think that my questions should "skewer them. That is, if they have genuine answers." If you had as much money tied up as I have, then you wouldn't have treated my email as you have done. I don't think you response to me has been seen as clever, rather as been patronising. Either you want to put forward questions on the behalf of members of the BB or you don't. You can't pick or choose, unless you are another time waster. As you can guess, I don't rate your response to me. I find it very telling that the board issued a statement via business wire rather than a RNS, which given the nature of the statement they should have issued a RNS. My question 1 vindicated. Either you are prepared to ask questions on behalf of this BB, or your not. Which is it? Man or mouse?

Remember, this is money involved, not ego.

JohnScarrott - 25 Apr 2006 21:20 - 16172 of 27111

The news today was released by Business wire, because it was not possible to offer any statements on the value of the news in pounds/dollars/why (I asked them)

The news today is great, but it's still early days for Starpol 3000. If they can get a few tray and film manufacturers to sign up for the licences, then we will get some idea of the scope.

Will there be more news leading up to, or on the day of the AGM ?

barney12345 - 25 Apr 2006 21:22 - 16173 of 27111

Bos tend to agree but think you have reached a tipping point that i have not yet.

Oblo we both forgot the 1.5 billion trays announced last year.

Have received PM1's email and sorry no offence Paul or JJS but it is in no way compelling. Just my opinion.

This management team cannot deliver they could not even deliver a pizza, a greensealed pizza at that.

PS A bottle of champagne to the first poster who spots and posts an RNS or news item for starpol 4000

Oilywag - 25 Apr 2006 21:38 - 16174 of 27111

For rmhyams

Lighten up will you. My remark was light hearted and ended with "lol(ling about)" which meant that I was not being serious and there certainly was not any intention of being patronising. The skewer remark was an indication that I thought your questions was "penetrating".

How would I know how much money you have invested? I have a fair amount tied up in SEO as well.

If you really have that amount invested perhaps you should make time to attend yourself.

Man or mouse? Try moose! - with big antlers.

Ego?! Mmmm I shall sleep on that.

The oily one (with horns)

garyble - 25 Apr 2006 21:44 - 16175 of 27111

Well there's a twist!

Not so long ago there would have beem tumultuous over-exuberance......now we have some II variants.

The most acerbic being good ole Bos....what happened???

Remember this:

bosley - 20 Feb 2004 17:26 - 4 of 16171
its very tempting and i feel the same way about fortune oil. as far as stanelco is concerned i think its worth hanging on at least for a little while longer . the 90 day trial with reckitt beckinser is close to ending so something good could happen there . and there is still the possibilty of a deal with sainsburys in the background. the negative aspects i.e. legal problem with bioprogress is probably the reason why this share isnt flying as well as last years loss. as far as i can see, the new products and technology at stanelco means only good things. i would like to see more news flow and it pains me to see the spectacular gains bioprogress are making while stanelco move sideways and slightly upwards. but .......any gain is beter than a loss........

garyble - 25 Apr 2006 21:48 - 16176 of 27111

Well it did take about 18 months for the Reckitt Benckiser business to come through....

barney12345 - 25 Apr 2006 21:56 - 16177 of 27111

Come on Garbyle, in hindsight i think Bos's email is spot on, he talks about sainsburys etc but he says worth hanging on at least for a little longer; 2 yrs 2 mnths later no news and he is out you cannot blame him.

apart from quantom tabs what have they delivered apart from more promises

garyble - 25 Apr 2006 22:19 - 16178 of 27111

Barney,

Not blaming anyone, I can understand how most can be quite impatient, especially when something shows and proclaims so much promise as SEO.

The RB deal has only just started to payback. Reiser were mentioned in the 2005 report, etc..

I think we've now got the measure of SEO and the SEO speak. As some de-rampers spout the m/cap is not supported by the current or near term performance and they're absolutely right, its the tremendous potential and thats what I've bought into.

They've calmed down on the RNSs and from recent news they've got to come up with the goods this year. The micro-manufacturing plants must get going this year, and as someone stated, each 20,000 tonne pa mmp should return ~4m.

Patience is the key along with balanced research.

KEAYDIAN - 25 Apr 2006 22:25 - 16179 of 27111

I can't see my purchase on the list of trades.

bosley - 25 Apr 2006 23:19 - 16180 of 27111

garyble, i bought into seo roughly 3 years ago because i read a news item about them developing biodegradeable starch trays which prompted further research. the companies mentioned as being interested at the time were sainsburys and macdonalds. i bought in because i believed in seo. since then it has had a wonderful, exciting ride. last month i sold, the idea being to take advantage of the drop in sp as the tax year changes. instead, over the last few weeks i have been reassessing seo and, as i said earlier, when you do that with cold , clear eyes, seo isn't the company i thought it was. i also realised just how attached and sentimental i was as far as seo was concerned. i think there are plenty on here the same way. but, as i said earlier, good luck to all holders .
just a question to all those who are long term holders, ie. from 3p-5p. what price does the sp have to drop to before you take the profit?

Stanelco Plc (``Stanelco'' or ``the Company'') -- STARPOL 3000 Moves towards Full Commercialization
ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 25, 2006--Stanelco Plc (LSE:SEO), the radio frequency applications group, is pleased to announce that its joint owned subsidiary Biotec has successfully overcome the final technical hurdles to full commercialization in the development of its revolutionary STARPOL 3000 biodegradable, rigid material.

STARPOL 3000 is a multi layer material that produces a clear plastic type material from a combination of starch materials. This material can be produced at a discount to conventional plastic materials such as APET and Polypropylene. It exhibits high gas barrier properties and is produced from 100% sustainable materials, is entirely suitable for most packaging applications and could revolutionize the plastics market. It can be thermoformed easily, can be supplied in a range of colors and unlike conventional plastics is not susceptible to oil price fluctuations.

The company is engaged in substantive commercial negotiations with a number of large end users including some of the world's biggest companies and with several converters who will be considering Micro Manufacturing Facility contracts around STARPOL 3000. Each MMF will contribute approximately GBP 4 million per annum per 20,000 ton licence plus a small percentage of end product sale price.

The level of interest and the support we are receiving from some of the world's biggest companies affirms Stanelco's view that no other company in the world is able to compete with STARPOL 3000 and it is envisioned that this material will soon become an environmentally and cost effective alternative to APET and Polypropylene (PP).

The revolutionary material can be used for most packaging scenarios where clear plastic is required and has enormous market opportunities. The market that it will be replacing is in the magnitude of millions of tons and this market will be entered into by a substantial number of micro manufacturing plants that will enable converters to manufacture their own resin, thereby ensuring their supply of material and also adding value to their supply chain.

The product has zero petroleum content, and its pricing into the market is determined solely by the price of plastic and bears no relation to manufacturing cost. Therefore the initial pricing will be targeted at approx 10% less than current plastic material in substantial quantity and this will then track the price of APET/PP.

Martin Wagner, Chief Executive of Stanelco, commented: "We are very excited about the potential of our STARPOL 3000 product. Having passed through these final technical tests, we will be moving at pace towards full commercialization and the interest levels from end users and converters has been immense."

I have some free time next week so may visit Southampton which is only about half an hours drive for me.

Tonyrelaxes - 26 Apr 2006 01:18 - 16184 of 27111

I am actually going to Southampton on early thursday morning and then have free time for the rest of the day. Not sure I can just wander in, firing questions, despite holding a fair number of shares.

I rather think I will be referred to the Shareholder Relations part of their Website.

Thoughts, anyone?
