rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

bloody hell!
ftse 6450 blown away after hours and dow now down about 105 and not impossible that we could see the next important benchmark of 16600 before a decent rally

read that and said no more than i knew already .... it was a good politician's view

with wall street closing with a gain of 208 points i saw that cash ftse was only showing +4
that looked out of balance, so i have taken a small ftse long at 6533.4 on the basis that, at least at the opening bell, it will be up a fair bit more than that

what about them? ...... market in china is more relevant, but even so, it looked/looks a good bet especially as f/e markets are likely to be solid enough after last night

my wallet said yes, and so did the markets yesterday and last night, albeit that they were due a bounce

I've still got two FTSE100 DFT long positions open. Don't see any reason to take a third right now.
