Thought I'd start a football blog, we might keep this going until 2010.....England doing well....did not see the match or even the goals....I'd like Michael owen back in the squad though....and I think Peter Crouch would make a very good substitute...remember against Argentina in Geneva a few years ago....with Michael Owen and some very good movements on and off the ball...they caused havoc.....did see Scotland's missed chance....that could be very costly losing those 2 points !.

Well it's probably the honour that you refer to which will motivate him to carry on, Treble.
I'm just saying that I don't think anyone could justifiably blame him if he were to walk away. I'm obviously not in his shoes but, if I were, I'm pretty sure that I'd say, "I don't need this. Bye."

Ashley Cole cheated on the Arsenal Fanswho took him to their hearthe cheated on Arsene Wengerwho showed faith in him and was betrayedin spite of winning two league and three FA Cup winners he illegally approached Chelsea to offer his services and was caught out and found guilty finned 100,000 by the Premier League and he cheated on Cheryl Tweedyhis wife with several women. Apart from that hes wonderful! He was booed by Arsenal supporters that will never forgive him. not England supporters!
By the way I support West Hamwho produced the greatest footballer and gentleman England have ever hadBobby Mooreand no cheating with him!

hils i dont agree the man is a mulit millionaire and paid handsomely for doing what he does, he has a great lifesytle...he made a howler on saturday...are the paying public not allowed to express their opinion of that mistake in case it upsets him?......lot of nonsese..you need to take the rough with the smooth.....
so i would blame him for walking away just because he got a bit of stick for making a mistake.........it is football industrial language and abuse are parts of the game

Of course the fans have got every right to boo whoever they want to boo for whatever reason they want to.
If booing your own players were to serve for the common good of the team, then I think it should be encouraged. Somehow though, I doubt that it did anybody any good whatsoever on Saturday. And, as ChilliBoy says, it was almost certainly a small element of Arsenal fans who did the booing on Saturday. What does that say about the Gooners? They really aren't the brightest bulbs in any box.

I'm not a great fan of him either, ChilliBoy, but he is probably the best left back in the world who also happens to be English and I really don't see the point in booing one of your own players just because you don't happen to like his moral standards.

Dil,
Wales looked good in the recent match i saw them play, where a certain Sam Vokes scored the winner!
however, the lack of firepower gives them a significant challenge to overcome, and I for one hope you DO qualify, as I support Wales in any match except when they play Cashley Cole and his overrated and overpaid buddies.

Hilary,
I attend every home match my team plays, and i can auusre you that home players are booed, and rightly so sometimes.
they are not overpaid premiership players either, but they take it on the chin as one of the hazards of the trade.
I think Cole epitomises everything I see wrong with the celebrity culture that has embraced premiership footballers, I feel no sympathy for him whatsoever.
You should look at how he treated his former fans and employers, and then his wife!
Would you encourage that sort of behaviour in your children?

best three left backs in the world are (in order)
Lahm

Dont believe the premier league hype...Cole would not even get into the top 10

you do not need to travel to see them play sky sports and setanta cover all of the major leagues in europe and they are all internationals although i have seen the italians play at home and away over the last few years against scotland...the problem with the english is they watch the premiershit and that is it and they assume there is nothing outside of it.
I bet there are also 10 better left backs then Cole in south america but i do not see much of their football
i would put Evra above Cole as a better left back in the Premiershit (aka the league with no soul)
