Reuters using Ki-Bi cards

Reuters Opts In to Mobile Promo
At Advertising Week, Reuters passed out an interesting promotion for mobile users at a handful of events. I was given a credit card-size handout wrapped in plastic. At first glance I assumed it was a pocketsize schedule of events, possibly a map labeling locations of panels, keynotes and other points of interest.

As it turns out, it was an agenda, schedule of events and parties, and news from Reuters, just in an unexpected format. The card contained a chip that, when played into the handset of a mobile phone, sent text messages with the requested information. It was certainly a useful tool for a hectic week with events and appointments spread out across town.

The technology behind the promotion was provided by a company called Ki-Bi Mobile Technologies.

A poster elsewhere contact Ki-Bi recently and the reply was encouraging too, they appear to have got their head around the lack of coverage caused the price to fall when reality is the business plan is exactly where it should be and going well.

A good update from greengiant at AFN;

greengiant - 4 Oct'05 - 15:33 -

papal - apologies for not getting back to you earlier. Have followed up my e-mail with a tele conv with the company and here is the gist of my conversation

1) Concerns over publicity / lack of news flow. The company will not release any RNS unless they represent a significant peice of news. They are not in the habit of releasing news for everything and sundry.

2) They are not happy with the level of penetration in the UK and are looking to rectify this as soon as possible through alternative distribution channels.

3) The increase in costs is driven by 2 factors - R&D which has now been completed, which was to convert the server technology to decode 3G cards and increase in marketing costs which are all ready showing benefits. Lots said about a standing start etc etc

4) Margins are actually improving on the product, in comparison with H2 last year v H1 so any additional revenue should cover Overheads fairly quickly.

5) US is seen as a key market and progress in that market is being made at a fairly rapid rate

6) No reason for the share price decline - it is undervalued.

Lots of other techy stuff which I didn't understand, but sounded impressive. They have also addressed my concerns about ringtones not changing and I can confirm that this week they have.

Ki-Bi Mobile Tech expands into Australasia

Ki-Bi Mobile Technologies Ltd. said Friday that it will expand into the Australian and New Zealand markets through a partnership with reseller, RT Developments G.I.M. Pty Ltd.

To add to its already growing presence in Europe and North America, the partnership means that Ki-Bi will now be distributing Ki-Bi Cards to channels including network operators, media groups and retail markets within Australiasia and have access to an additional regional market of 20 million end-users.

The Ki-Bi mobile content card is a physical device and server platform for the retail distribution of mobile content.

To access content from a Ki-Bi card customers simply dial the Ki-Bi service, hold their card up to their phone and press the button relating to the content they wish to receive.

An acoustic tone is played which triggers the download of content to the phone from the central server.

Chief Executive Ehud Levy said the partnership is a strategically important development for Ki-Bi as it gives the group the opportunity to leverage its technology in a wider range of sales channels.

RT Developments is backed by strong partners from various industries which will be invaluable to our visibility in Australia and New Zealand and the partnership enables us to enter the Australasian market some six months ahead of the date envisaged by our business plan at the time of the Company's initial public offer in May.

PapalPower - 09 Oct 2005 06:54 - 23 of 81

The good news was also that they are making good progress in the USA as this is a market thats growing rapidly and not defined in terms of delivery and if they are making good progress as has been said the effects of that could be huge and an area they look like they prioritised for investment in early 2005 to gain the benefits.

Mobile Content Growing, Expected to Soar

According to a Wall Street Journal report, faster carrier networks, flashier handsets and consumer interest are driving the growth in mobile content including games, music, and news headlines. As carriers continue to upgrade their wireless networks and manufacturers continue to offer devices with more functionality, consumers can expect more start-up companies offering a wide-variety of mobile content. While the use of mobile content is currently greater in Asia and Europe, the U.S. market is growing rapidly with analysts expecting sales of mobile data to reach $8.4 billion in 2006.

A good day I think today, after the bid/offer was dropped to 32/34 after a single sell of 10,024 the rest were all buys at 33/34 and the bid and offer ended up from the opening drop. Some nice buying which might indicate we are going to get some more good news soon.

Given the delayed reporting and T's I make it just the 10,024 sell / rest are buys.

About Ki-Bi
Ki-Bi provides innovative technological solutions for physical distribution and
marketing of content and applications for mobile handsets. The Company's
business model is based upon the sale of electronic content cards ('Cards') and
sharing of the revenues from the content distributed through the Cards. Ki-Bi
has been a portfolio company of Siemens Acceleration since September 2003.

Content, such as ringtones, music, video and games for mobile handsets, is
currently distributed mainly by over-the-air downloads into handsets, but there
are technological, logistic and marketing barriers to traditional physical
distribution of such content via retail outlets. Ki-Bi provides a solution for
the physical distribution of mobile content based on a combination of
proprietary consumer electronics devices and central management server systems.

Ki-Bi's Cards enable flexibility for customization and production in mass
volumes, elements which the Directors consider are essential in brand
differentiation and content promotion. During the past two years, Ki-Bi has
established relationships with global leaders in the mobile market such as
Motorola, Ericsson, Orange, O2, Sun and others.

Don't you think you are flogging a dead horse with this..both here and on iii you seem to be the only one interested and anyway the price has dropped from 98p on day 1 to the present 32p. It's tech, overseas and tiny.

PapalPower - 24 Oct 2005 14:00 - 32 of 81

That is what makes it interesting, I am holding now at average of upper 30's and the directors have said after the fall to 50p no business reason for the fall. They are expected to report a good profit for full year ending 31st Dec so the more contract that come in the better, a good EPS figure for full year will be , and they have stated before they are on course for 6M US$ full year revenue (that was before the landmark Canada deal and the Australasia deal ahead of schedule).

For this to get noticed all it will need is a tip or a decent full year profit figure and then away it will go.

A lot of the shares that rise well are not featured on BB's until after they have risen or get tipped (so I am happy to talk to myself at the moment)

PapalPower - 24 Oct 2005 14:13 - 33 of 81

Forget to add they have cash in the bank of 40p per share (and you do not even get a cash shell trading at cash or less), so at the present price the business is free and so is some cash, and its now into their busy Q4 where they turn over multi millions.

coeliac1 - 24 Oct 2005 16:59 - 34 of 81

Good luck. My take on this is that you will need it.

C

PapalPower - 25 Oct 2005 11:33 - 35 of 81

Thanks for the good luck wishes, I feel people will notice it when the contracts keep coming in and then a nice profit is posted full year end, so a lump of good luck with that should go down well.
