Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

All,

FWIW, I'm using IE 5 on good 'ole Win98 on an IBM ThinkPad 366MHz, 288Mb RAM (I'm told it's good enough for management and that I don't need anything better :). I use the Sun Java plugin. All this stuff, including Terminal, just works for me. I'm hanging off the corporate LAN on 100Mb Ethernet through a proxy server to a max 2Mb microwave link to the Internet.

Jules, which version of IE are you using?

Cheers

D.

Can someone please suggest a reason why it can take me upto 10 mins to get streaming going with live prices and then within about 2 mins I am timed out!

Thanks

IanT(MoneyAM) - 23 Feb 2004 08:08 - 1713 of 7315

THEGOLFER,

Can you tell me what kind of connection you have there and what operating system you are running?

Ian

THEGOLFER - 23 Feb 2004 08:37 - 1714 of 7315

Ian

I am on companys local area network using windows NT4.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 23 Feb 2004 08:40 - 1715 of 7315

THEGOLFER,

There are currently no problems with the streaming services - I spoken to our technical team and they have confirmed that you are using a slightly older operating system which may be the cause of your problems. Would it be possible for you to try this on a slightly newer operating system to see if the applet downloads any faster?

Ian

THEGOLFER - 23 Feb 2004 08:45 - 1716 of 7315

Ian

Thanks for the feedback much appreciated. Not a lot I can do about the system although I believe we are migrating later this year to a new system so will have to wait and see what happens.

Thanks again

Hi

THE Streaming system seems to slowly lockup - as no trades are going through or any changes to bid/mid/ask prices after the initial first two/three minutes after logon ????????? is anyone else having a problem ?

regards
ken

Hi - its burst into life now - ken

IanT(MoneyAM) - 23 Feb 2004 08:52 - 1719 of 7315

Ken,

Please let me know if this happens again.

There are no problems at this end, so I can only assume it was a small glitch either with your pc or isp - just let me knwo if it re occurs

Ian - non streaming is behind the times again.

Kayak - 23 Feb 2004 09:57 - 1721 of 7315

Grey screens since just before 9:45, seems to be having problems loading the jar and class files.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 23 Feb 2004 09:59 - 1722 of 7315

Dil/Kayak,

Jonathan is looking into this as we speak - Kayak, can you close your browser and restart for me?

Ian

Kayak - 23 Feb 2004 10:07 - 1723 of 7315

done, but still as grey as the pea-soup in a Dickens novel.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 23 Feb 2004 10:08 - 1724 of 7315

Kayak,

Are there any icons in the left hand corner

Regards Ian

EDIT: Kayak, can you leave it open for a few minutes to see if it downloads the applet? we have no reported problems at this end but it seems to be stuggling on your pc. If this doesn't work, could you do a restart on the pc for me if convenient?

Ian

Kayak - 23 Feb 2004 10:13 - 1725 of 7315

Not sure what you mean Ian but if you mean the grey box, no it is totally grey. It is trying to load the class files etc.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 23 Feb 2004 10:14 - 1726 of 7315

Kayak,

cna you do a restart on the PC - sorry for inconvenience.

Ian

Kayak - 23 Feb 2004 10:24 - 1727 of 7315

Just before I gave up and did the restart, grey changed to white and a few more refreshes solved the problem. Seems to be OK now, thanks Ian.
