FTSE + FTSE 250 - consider trading (FTSE)

cynic - 20 Oct 2007 12:12

rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

goldfinger - 19 Dec 2014 14:56 - 17171 of 21973

Still the same - don't worry Shortie - I'm sure we both have more productive things to do right now.

Actually I've just seen max long and max short size are both 0.

Shortie - 19 Dec 2014 15:19 - 17180 of 21973

So you can't trade it with a demo account then

skinny - 19 Dec 2014 15:19 - 17181 of 21973

Seams Odd, wonder why they do that..
Have to say though I've only ever used them to trade a handful of companies either on DFT or Future, never had any problems but the vast majority of trades I make are indices or FX.

goldfinger - 19 Dec 2014 15:30 - 17183 of 21973

sell sell sell Shortie ...........quick youve taken your mind off the market.

Shortie - 19 Dec 2014 15:33 - 17184 of 21973

GF I'll be selling again soon enough no doubt!

goldfinger - 19 Dec 2014 15:37 - 17185 of 21973

skinny - 19 Dec 2014 15:45 - 17186 of 21973

Shortie - I've played with the FTSE & DAX mainly, but I have placed positions in BT & DEB, so its not the functionality - no matter.

skinny - 19 Dec 2014 15:48 - 17187 of 21973
