rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

Just dumped a second DAX short -10 - looks like 9800 PDQ.

and closed the next dow long for +85, leaving just one block running from 17405

and out of the last dow long at 17586 for +181

phew! .... to think they were all pretty badly hit just a couple of days back

Another assault on 6450.

FTSE has just gone into overbought territory on the 15 min, I'm now debating opening a position.

So is the DAX - there's 9800.

banked a twiddly 9 points on ftse long, but as i shan't be able to watch for the rest of the evening, it seemed prudent

Keep your eye on Greece and the chance of early elections if they fail to elect a new President... The DAX and everything else will crash

I've got an order to short the DAX @9840.

Apparently short @9840.2.

I been looking at going short all day and all I've seen is new daily highs... They look well overdone but no sign of a reversal yet!!

DAX may make @9910 at this rate.

On the daily chart though they all look like a pull back to the 30DMA is due so puts 6600 on the cards for the FTSE...

Its been a if in doubt stay out one today...

The DAX is already above that.
