Alan,

Your bit re carrots and chernobyl, and re they would close supermarkets and open corner shops, hits the preverbial nail right on the head. Companies such as Asda, Tesco and the like are 99% at least only interested in money. They will only go as green as what their customers demand. That is what will make them and us hopefully via SEO rich.
Well said.

As an observer only (SEO does not yet quite fit my investment profile of cash generation, rising profits and growing dividends!) this looks a classic case of whether those providing the cash run out of patience before the potential begins to be realised. Ringprop today shows they sometimes do,but it can go the other way too. FWIW I would hold if I had any, but make notional full provision in my own personal balance sheet!

kimoldfield - 21 Jun 2006 10:49 - 17349 of 27111

Another day closer to some sort of news, the jigsaw is slowly being put together, but is that last piece in the box, or is it missing? I look forward to the next WI calendar, complete with strategically placed Greenseal trays. 'Calendar Girls go green'.

A few updates on the Stanelco website now.

hewittalan6 - 21 Jun 2006 11:41 - 17351 of 27111

Now the product pages are much better.
The range looks very good and there are a few good selling points in there about costs and energy efficiency.
Frogpack looks better too, now in its full livery.

" the jigsaw is slowly being put together " how many times have i heard that.

If you think SEO is a long term hold, you should have sold out when you had the chance and put your money to better use untill they start to get some decent cash flow, if you had sold anywere between 16 and 28 pence you will still be able to buy back in more cheaply, i think that is what Andy Smyth said he is doing and you don't see him posting every day about silly bits of unrelated news such as the WI campaign, talk about clutching at straws.

kimoldfield - 21 Jun 2006 12:17 - 17353 of 27111

aldwickk, take a look at the revamped website; a lot more info on there now. I can't make up my mind, having viewed the GreenSeal video, whether or not they are about to go into full scale production. It seems likely that they are, given the content - they are advertising to the entire manufacturing industry in a way that indicates they have sorted out all problems BUT, does that also infer that they will not be going ahead with a contract with WM? We will see. As for clutching at straws, well maybe but the new website, although still out of date on the opening page, is far, far better with a good insight into what SEO do and can become, with or without help from the WI! I have held since 3p, topped up at various stages and am still showing a healthy overall profit. I don't much care if I lose out with this share, though I would of course be peeved, it would not be the end of my world! I would be inclined to grab one of the straws now, good news will see a sharp increase in value IMO.

aldwickk

'silly bits of unrelated news such as the WI campaign'

I dont know how you can say this is 'unrelated'!

'Packaging', 'biodegradable', 'supermarkets' - not related to SEO? Are we talking about the same SEO?

And it may surprise you to know that the quarter of a million or so WI members are predominantly women! Which sex does most supermarket shopping?

So, a quarter of a million supermarket shoppers mounting a campaign to persuade supermarkets to use biodegradable packaging - SEO are in negotiations and have a contract to supply ASDA with biodegradable packaging.

Still think it isn't relevant?

garyble - 21 Jun 2006 13:26 - 17355 of 27111

I wonder if QC did them a favour....or perhaps the placing was to pay for his services!

kimoldfield - 21 Jun 2006 13:52 - 17356 of 27111

Like it or nor aldwickk, you will be seeing news relating to packaging, biodegrable etc long after SEO hit the big time/go bust, the latter highly unlikely; it IS all relevent and you will see the same on the SYM site and the same sort of thing on every site. Having had a moment to think about it (a rare moment these days) I do not consider any of it to be clutching at straws. 'Green' is the only way packaging is going these days and, in my view, it is a very large cake which can be sliced into many pieces, there is not a company on this earth that can eat the whole cake alone! So let's keep all the news coming no matter how distantly related it may seem to be at the time; if only to while away the time between news or the next football match!

Garyble, I hope QC was already driving around in his new Bentley before the placing!!

Hooray a website that "sort" of works and tells the world about what SEO do, the video is a bit amateur but at last we can see something and is informative. never heard off embroidery tape???? and nothing on fag filters?

now for the news

hewittalan6 - 21 Jun 2006 15:36 - 17359 of 27111

Haven't heard of the biodegradable computer operating system before either, but apparantly it degrades to a useless mush the moment it is exposed to data.
SEO believe it will challange Microsoft because it will last longer than Windows XP.

greekman - 21 Jun 2006 17:48 - 17365 of 27111

Tweenie,

You beat me to it. I was just thinking the same. With interims possibly tomorrow, the timing of the improved web site could be more than coincidental perhaps.
