Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Spaceman,

Can I please have what post number it was, then I can investigate further.

Thanks,
J.

J it was editing post 51 in the traders thread.

The BB is slow agin now, I just had a refresh fail, it went to a blank page and very slow updates on another.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 27 Feb 2004 09:51 - 1785 of 7315

Spaceman,

The BB is refreshing very quickly here for me. I did just run a huge query which may have slowed it for a couple of minutes.

Can you try editing that post again and let me know what happens?

Thanks.
J.

Spaceman - 27 Feb 2004 09:54 - 1786 of 7315

J, yes its fine now added a comment, I had edited it since I got the java error and that was OK as well. Also speed now fine.

BrianTrayda - 27 Feb 2004 09:55 - 1787 of 7315

JT - once I get to the front of the site queue the BB does load quick (ie: the page snaps into place). Alas, getting to the front of the queue is still a slow process, including getting to the logon page and moving on from it.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 27 Feb 2004 09:57 - 1788 of 7315

BrianTrayda,

Sorry, im obviously have an extremely thick day:
queue?

BrianTrayda - 27 Feb 2004 10:14 - 1789 of 7315

JT: Nowt else to call it.From the time I click on something to the point of getting a flicker of a response. Whether is overburden IP connections, overburden processor or whatever it means a "queue". When I use the site in the late evening everything is zippitydoodah. As I said, the BB thread list now draws rapido ONCE an initial response is obtained. Conclusion: Change QUEUE to another word, but the implication is the same.

J, BT is describing exactly the symptoms that I get al the time I know how he feels.

Kayak - 27 Feb 2004 10:24 - 1791 of 7315

Sometimes the style sheets don't load properly, I don't know if that's a pointer to the issue or a related one.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 27 Feb 2004 10:28 - 1792 of 7315

BrianTrayda,

ok, I understand now.

It is an odd problem becuase I get the connections quick and fast.

I take a look at the tcp queue on our app servers and see if I can tweak that.

It cant happen till after 16:30 tho...

J.

J I just had a very long pause before a refresh and then the page only half refreshed, I have a copy of the screen do you have an email add I can send it to?

BrianTrayda - 27 Feb 2004 11:08 - 1794 of 7315

I've just realised my Stockwatch has been going all morning without a need for a forced refresh because it had stopped streaming. Could any of the BB changes have had an influence on that JT? Much to the positive of course.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 27 Feb 2004 11:15 - 1795 of 7315

BrianTrayda,

There is no reason at all that your stockwatch should stop streaming. If it does, then it is normally due to an interupt somewhere down the wire...

However, ill take the credit if you want :)

Spaceman - 27 Feb 2004 11:20 - 1796 of 7315

J, dont you want my screenprint re 1792 above ?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 27 Feb 2004 11:23 - 1797 of 7315

Spaceman,

Please send it to me and I will forward it to JT.

Thanks

This has probably been mentioned many times, but the bulletin board search by epic doesn't work about half the time. I'm not actually sure it ever did work properly, but will it ever be fixed?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 02 Mar 2004 07:00 - 1801 of 7315

Kyoto,

thanks for that and yes we are aware of it and on the case.

Ian
