rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

not sure which way the markets will go, but quite possibly gyrate madly at times depending on the news coming out and perception of progress or otherwise

north then sideways likely today - low hanging fruit day ;

discipline needed to avoid greed
though a skeleton agreement may be agreed, there's plenty of time for some frights before everything is finalised

DOW has limped back through 18,170 so let's see if it can hold that through to the close

No trades on Tuesday. Long term FTSE 100 at the same level as 1999. Hard to believe with 16 years inflation compounded.

No but i put a short on the FTSE just now and closed it again ,it's not going along with the DAX and DOW.

Telegraph reporting creditors did not accept latest Greek proposals.

i suppose if you're really concentrating hard, there's money to be made, but the range has actually been pretty tight

18,000 or 17,988 would make an interesting point from which to go long

i took my own advice, but set too low a limit which has now been easily hit
still, a 50 point profit is not to be sneezed at

if one has the time and concentration, there could easily be some fair gyrations today of which to take advantage, depending on the news emanating from brussels

DOW actually dumped right down to 17,950, but was distracted by MrT's ravings, though have managed a modest dabble (long) at 17,976
