Israeli Gaza conflict?????? (GAZA)

Fred1new - 06 Jan 2009 19:21

Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?

If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?

Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?

What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

Just now I forgot to put "with" finance...sorry...

Gausie - 08 May 2010 12:20 - 1799 of 6906

No problem RF - here's my view of the markets this morning, Saturday 8th May.

FTSE 100: Unchanged - I reckon that'd be cos it's closed.
FTSE 250: Unchanged - I reckon that'd be cos it's closed.
AIM: Unchanged - I reckon that'd be cos it's closed.
DOW: Unchanged - I reckon that'd be cos it's closed.
Spoo: Unchanged - I reckon that'd be cos it's closed.
Nas: Unchanged - I reckon that'd be cos it's closed.
Hang Seng: Unchanged - I reckon that'd be cos it's closed.
Dax: Unchanged - I reckon that'd be cos it's closed.
Nikkei: Unchanged - I reckon that'd be cos it's closed.

Now, back to viennettas. Lemon, IMHO, although a rock solid concept, was a truly awful implementation.

speechless...

Req F.

What have many threads to do directly with finance?

There are at least two threads on football (Rugby and the round ball game)

Week end chat thread/

Talk to yourself/

Amongst other threads which are of interest to some.

The middle east is a problem, which influences trade especially oil prices and has political effects on money movement.

The relevance is colossal, but it is a shame that the thread has degenerated into the level of adolescent mud slinging.

Just think off the effect of a nuclear attack on Iran in the next few years would have in on the financial markets.

If the thread doesn't interest you, don't read it.

If there is no interest it will die it own death.

But what is interesting is the attempt to suppress the thread, the methods being used and those who are doing it.

The observation of the thread is interesting to me, but maybe I am from another planet, as has been suggested by some.

Kayak - 08 May 2010 13:02 - 1802 of 6906

No - that would be Pinocchio :-) I suggested you were from another planet.

Haystack - 08 May 2010 13:07 - 1803 of 6906

I think it would be a good idea to chop this thread completely. It is too much a forum for nutters.

Fred1new - 08 May 2010 13:21 - 1804 of 6906

Kayak,

Apologies, just edited 1801.

Hays,

I don't think you are a nutter.

But would like to be observing you, when you discover that there is a colour grey, in between black and white.

8-)

Ps. what are the polls saying now.

Haystack - 08 May 2010 13:23 - 1805 of 6906

I think all those who might be designated as nutters know who they are.

Gausie - 08 May 2010 13:33 - 1806 of 6906

Hays - what are your views on the lemon viennetta?

Kayak - 08 May 2010 13:33 - 1807 of 6906

Me!

Haystack - 08 May 2010 13:43 - 1808 of 6906

Lemon viennetta?

not bad.

why don't we change this topic into a cookery and food thread?

Haystack - 08 May 2010 13:45 - 1809 of 6906

Does anyone have a good recipe for chicken soup?

Fred1new - 08 May 2010 13:47 - 1810 of 6906

Hays,

The mad don't define themselves as mad.

Be careful, or they may take you away.

Food, Start another thread.

In The Land of the B - 08 May 2010 13:58 - 1811 of 6906

"Does anyone have a good recipe for chicken soup? "

Reminds me of when Marilyn Monroe was married to Arthur Miller (sorry, fahel, another Jew grabbing the best in the world for himself) and went to his mother's for supper. She made her matzo balls in chicken soup.
She really enjoyed it and asked, "So what do you cook with the rest of the matzo?"

Haystack - 08 May 2010 14:00 - 1812 of 6906

No. This now a food thread.

What about some Israeli and Palestinian recipes? We can fight it out over food.

Musakhan
serves 4

1 chicken, quartered
1 tbs. ground sumac
pinch ground nutmeg

pinch ground cinnamon

tsp. freshly ground black pepper

salt

juice of 1 lemon

1 pound red onions, finely chopped

2Tbs olive oil

cup rich chicken stock

flat bread

Rinse the chicken and pat dry. Remove excess fat.
Combine sumac, spices & salt. Set aside 2 tsp of this mixture, mixing the rest with the lemon juice. Rub into the chicken and marinate for up to 24 hours.
Sautthe onions in olive oil, add half the chicken stock, reserved spices and a pinch of salt. Cover and cook gently for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 400 F.
Place the chicken on a baking sheet, and cover with the onion mixture. Cover with foil and cook for 20 minutes.
Lightly brush an oven dish with oil, place the flat bread on this and sprinkle with the remaining stock. Place the chicken quarters on the onions and bread, and return to the oven for a further 20 minutes or until tender and nicely browned. Serve immediately sprinkled with pine nuts.

Haystack - 08 May 2010 14:03 - 1813 of 6906

A man goes into a bakerery. There is a terrible storm outside with thunder and lightening.

Give me two bagels - one with seeds and one without.

Mr Cohen - did your wife send you out on a night like this for two bagels?

Who else? - my mother?

In The Land of the B - 08 May 2010 14:26 - 1814 of 6906

Now that is what I call a worthwhile copy and paste.
See, I'm being objective about you, haymaker. When you do something good, praise where praise is due.
There's hope for everyone, even you.
Well maybe not everyone, difficult to see fahel and fred (glad you lost Barking and Dagenham, btw) ever being redeemed.

In The Land of the B - 08 May 2010 14:27 - 1815 of 6906

But don't say you got the "joke" from a Jew who happens to be your best friend......

Haystack - 08 May 2010 14:30 - 1816 of 6906

No. My best friend is a lapsed Catholic.

In The Land of the B - 08 May 2010 14:41 - 1817 of 6906

Who? You?
Or the Pope?
Though perhaps you are being subtle, knowing that Hitler was a lapsed catholic.
