where is it going (VOD)

Has anybody got any idea where this is going and where it is likely to be by the end of the year. I'm up at the moment do I hold & wait for 3G or off load now.

Vodafone Group Plc ('Vodafone') announces today that it has purchased the
following number of its ordinary shares of U.S.$0.10 each on the London Stock
Exchange via Deutsche Bank AG London.


Ordinary Shares


Date of purchase: 12 August 2005


Number of ordinary shares purchased: 15 million



Highest purchase price paid per share: 148p



Lowest purchase price paid per share: 147.25p


Volume weighted average price per share: 147.75p





Vodafone intends to hold the purchased shares in treasury.

Since 1 April 2005, Vodafone has purchased 1,530,200,000 shares at a cost
(including dealing and associated costs) of 2,138,149,018.

This may shake things up a bit !!

It is believed Vodafone intends to exit the crucial Japanese market entirely. Softbank, Japan's leading broadband supplier, is taking Vodafone Japan off the UK company's hands.

Vodafone is tipped to hand the proceeds of the eventual sale, which could be up to 8bn, back to shareholders via a special dividend.
