MELDEX. Double your money- quicktime. (MDX)

kitosdad - 12 Dec 2007 16:20

The engines have fired up at last for MDX. ( BPRG ) At long last they are being recognised for the force they will become over the next two years. On the cusp of disclosing huge revenue-earning deals with Global pharmacists. These have been hinted at as being unrolled before the years end, but may be in the next days. You still have time to get in at a bargain-basement price before the SP takes off for real shortly.

The City's watchdog has responded to recent stock market turbulence by announcing new rules for investors who bet on big share price falls.
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) said it was concerned over the higher potential for market abuse through investors exploiting market uncertainty when firms are raising cash through rights issues.
Short-selling, or "shorting", is when investors borrow stock in a company and sell it in the hope of buying it back at a lower price later to return to the original owner - pocketing the difference as profit.
Smaller investors were put at risk by the practice during rights issues and it also had the potential to damage the UK market, the FSA said.

Andy - this started before the meeting at which the shareholders blocked the new 100m shares ... leaving those who had already begun to short down to what they had been assured would be the the new issue price in limbo .... however the blocking action has resulted in a stalemate .... if an issue takes place, those concerned are 'bang to rights', if it doesn't they take a financial hit....

Dil - you know full well why shorters would need a rights issue to cover their positions... the alternative is to buy 'real' shares, thus driving the SP up past where they stand in the market - so taking the accompanying financial hit!

This has dangerously become a 'pissing up the wall' contest between some stubborn bods, with MDX caught in the middle .....

Huh???

tabasco - 12 Aug 2008 12:56 - 1832 of 8631

Well done Bert great answer!..thank Frankie Abbott someone knows the position with mdxa definite promotion on the way my son!

littlebert2 - 12 Aug 2008 13:11 - 1833 of 8631

...or more likely spirited away in a black 7 series, never to be heard of again :-)
As for Mr Abbott, surely not harking back to The Fenn Street gang?

I'm not anti-shorting, it's just that, especially with AIM listings, some take it way too far - where I agree an allowance of somewhere around 10% tolerance of share issue may help in certain markets to muster interest, 100%+ overselling is not uncommon, which only leads to profiteering at the expense of existing shareholders....

Dil - 12 Aug 2008 13:16 - 1834 of 8631

the logic was lost on me too pt :-)

They still have to buy them back at some time whether there's a rights issue or not so what's the bloody difference ?

kimoldfield - 12 Aug 2008 13:31 - 1835 of 8631

What MDX needs is someone with at least half and idea of what PR is about, that would be 100% better than what they seem to have at present!

tabasco - 12 Aug 2008 14:12 - 1836 of 8631

Kim they dont want to tell us the goodies they havenext questionwhy?.have a count up on all the BBsthere are thousands of questions put to the bodthey are unable to disguise fundamentals which are greatbut they can mute good newswhich they doit is quite common to be economical with the truth if you have something to hidebut bordering on insanity if things are going wellRevenue growth in H1 2008 of 270% to circa 23.5 million from 8.7 million in H1 2007: results in line with Meldex's budget and towards the top end of market guidance.things are going well! They have a pipeline to die for that investors cannot keep up with. Now you draw your own conclusions like we all haveand like Bert said it is not a level playing field there are probably more than one factor...butend of day imho.. deliberate damaging manipulation!

Dil - 12 Aug 2008 14:27 - 1837 of 8631

Total b*llox , wake up and smell the coffee tabby.

kimoldfield - 12 Aug 2008 14:30 - 1838 of 8631

Hmm, well I think a simple statement along the lines of - The directors of Meldex know of no reason for the recent weakness of the Company's share price - might just allay a few investors' unease, otherwise some may begin to think there is a problem!

Dil - 12 Aug 2008 14:49 - 1839 of 8631

How can they kim ... they're all shorting the ar*se off it if you believe this lot :-)

kimoldfield - 12 Aug 2008 14:56 - 1840 of 8631

Dil,

Your boys were a tad fortunate tonight!

Your forwards were ably assisted by our defenders for both goals, although my mate reckons the first was offside.
