MEDICAL MARKETING, A Speculative Punt That Might Reap Rich Rewards (MMG)

goldfinger - 01 Sep 2004 15:33

This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.

Heres the latest news from Killik stocbrokers on the company..........

MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture

We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.

Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.

This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)

The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.

Please DYOR

cheers GF.

PM - I think you're forgetting the NHL vaccine which has finished Phase II.
Only waiting for 1 sites data but apparently this will not affect the overall results which I've heard are something to get enthusiastic about, more so if you are unfortunate enough to be afflicted with said disease.

DYOR.

Hi All,

I did warn in post 1829 that there was no news in my office, and we have around 20 MMG investors here, including the 'big MMG man' with over half a mil', and in regular contact with DB.

More ups and downs to come before news arrives methinks.

Cheers,
PM

Glad there's no insider dealing going on in your office........................

As if DB could really tell your mate anything before he tells the Stock Market?

lol

..

seawallwalker - 03 Aug 2005 07:45 - 1837 of 2444

swseun - it is never a good idea to ask that sort of question on a bb.

You are stitting on a paper loss at the moment, which will become a cash loss if you sell now.

Please make your own decision.

Good luck.

Seawallwalker Hi,

I will take your word for it :)

Cheers,

Sad to see John Hustler leave but I suppose the appointment of a full time Director will be more positive in the long term as opposed to one who is part time.

moneyplus - 12 Aug 2005 10:53 - 1846 of 2444

hope it comes soon-I'm sitting on losses and getting bored!

mickeyskint - 12 Aug 2005 11:17 - 1847 of 2444

I still hold but I have put these in my "What a pile of dog poo" portfolio.

doughboy66 - 12 Aug 2005 12:53 - 1848 of 2444

I am sitting on a loss at the moment but thats my fault because i could have banked a fat profit instead of topping up my holding. It has taught me a lesson though bank my profit earlier and leave some for the next person.
I still think these are good bet for the future and DB is building a good solid foundation for this company to build on in the future and maximize revenue.
The recent announcement that John Hustler was leaving his position as part time finance director and his position being filled fulltime by Rob Sprawson in October ,shows that MMG are positioning themselves for negotiations in the future.

Rob Sprawson has gained experience in providing strategic financial advice to technology based companies including those in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.
I`m no expert but given Rob Sprawson doesn`t take up his position until October and negotiation are not done overnight, its going to be a few more months yet maybe an early Christmas present ,we can but hope.

MMG are still saying they will have between 10-11 products in the clinic by year end 2005.
They currently have 4.(1 having completed Phase I/II).
Thats a few big announcements between now and year end (4 months) not including any possible licencing deals .
Looking at valuation methods will show, the value of a drug leaps to about 30% of market value when progressing from pre-clinic to Phase 1.
All the cancer trials will enter Phase I/II.
