Hammer to come tomorrow ?

Looks like a tree shake today given the volume going through....

optomistic - 21 Feb 2005 20:22 - 188 of 274

Did the 'hammer' arrive? I don't fully know how to interpret candlesticks so I am awaiting to see how inscrutable they are before undertaking further research on the subject. Anyone got a link to the easy understanding of candlesticks?

banjomick - 21 Feb 2005 23:29 - 189 of 274

Pop into your local church,i think they use quite a few and may be able to offer advice on candles and how they are made.
Still waiting for announcements and holding up well concidering.imho of course

overgrowth - 22 Feb 2005 00:04 - 190 of 274

opto - no hammer I'm afraid - this is a short body with a thin tail dropping down - all it means is that a low was reached during the day's trading but buying support was so strong the price went right back up again - these formations are said to "hammer" the price up to new highs in the next trading days.

I'm not convinced in the reliablity of using candles to make predictions like this - although I find them much easier to read than e.g. high/low bar charts etc. and they can help in establishing trigger points found using other methods.

There's some examples of major formations at:

banjomick - lol!

optomistic - 22 Feb 2005 09:39 - 191 of 274

Thanks Overgrowth, that's a very useful site will print that page off and keep it handy.
Tried Banjomick's advice, cost me a pound for the collection and they said all they do in here is light them!

overgrowth - 22 Feb 2005 21:30 - 192 of 274

lol!

An interesting comment from the hangman on advfn:

"i spent a very long lunch today with a number of business contacts, our age group is in the 40-60 region, the conversation was obviously around our own companies and networking, as we are all linked to the healthcare market, also investments came into the conversation (old men and their money) but when a couple of our more senior men spent more time in the WC did the discussion of prostate enlargment come up (or not-a good money spinner)

one of the group (new to me) said he had put some money into a small company called mediwatch and advised us all to do the same,as he said in mid/end march big orders are expected from japan and by the end of the year china and the usa"

...now where was it the CEO was visting just recently....

banjomick - 22 Feb 2005 22:24 - 193 of 274

optomistic,so have you seen the light now and invested in more shares???
I still think mdw is baring up very well with the lack of news and hopefully won't drop below 8.5 before it arrives.

optomistic - 22 Feb 2005 23:38 - 194 of 274

Banjomick, got plenty for now but could well make a further purchase when the up move begins. I don't worry about missing the bottom or hitting the top, as long as there is plenty in the middle it will do for me. I am surprised that we have not been recognised by the market in general yet but I don't think it will be long. MDW's products are too valuable to medicine to go unnoticed for much longer.

ethel - 23 Feb 2005 19:31 - 195 of 274

I am in at 8p.Hope this can take off,it deserves to.Ethel

hampi_man - 24 Feb 2005 20:35 - 196 of 274

it should turn north at 8.5............judging by the chart

sutherlh1 - 09 Mar 2005 10:10 - 197 of 274

Time to get in or get out of MDW? It seems close to strong support around 6 to 7p so I will hold for the time being,

optomistic - 09 Mar 2005 10:18 - 198 of 274

When I bought (9.75p) it looked as though 15p was clearly on the cards, very surprised how it has turned down. The Company has the products and they will hit the market. In the meantime as sutherlh1 mentions the support area is 6/7p, hope it holds or the climb back will be so much longer.

andysmith - 09 Mar 2005 10:28 - 199 of 274

Keeping this in my portfolio, products are there, just need the deals.

ethel - 09 Mar 2005 10:42 - 200 of 274

Yes,this is a bit disappointing.Portascan 11 will be available mid 2005,they hope. All the arrangements are in place but there is'nt enough news to encourage buyers. This is a very small business, still loss making.Wish they could get the sales going...products are so useful.Suppose people don't get excited about bladders and prostates...preferring to invest in oil companies who have'nt even started drilling....more exciting!!!I really feel that Mediwatch deserves more for their niche status.
Ethel,(the only lady member of the Prostate Club)?

overgrowth - 09 Mar 2005 13:46 - 201 of 274

Time to get in looks like now folks.

Admittedly Mediwatch have exciting new products in the pipeline, but they also have a full range of equipment which is being sold into a wide range of global markets.

Rumour has it that a large deal has recently been signed with Japan (where they are already selling their products - so that's a fantastic vote of confidence) and this is expected to be announced during this month.

Also to look forward to are the approval from the Chinese/Hong Kong medical authority (SDA), Mediwatch already have two distributors primed for both of those markets with a range of products ready to sell in. This can literally happen at any day now.

And...the big one - the US distribution deal. FDA approval was gained over a year ago and legal wrangles over product naming etc. held things up until the end of 2004. I reckon a couple more months and the US deal will be in the bag.

zscrooge - 09 Mar 2005 14:11 - 202 of 274

A lot of ifs overgrowth but worth a dabble.

overgrowth - 09 Mar 2005 15:33 - 203 of 274

zscrooge - no "ifs", they're all going to happen - it's just that we don't know exactly when.

Mediwatch have a habit of churning out RNSs within a couple of weeks of each other, keep an eye out for this and you'll ride the bounces well...

banjomick - 09 Mar 2005 17:51 - 204 of 274

That was a big drop for no real reason!Nothing has changed, that i know about,mm's just trying to scare us lol.Small volumes dropping sp and small volumes raising it.Should be interesting then, when or if they get their licences me thinks.

overgrowth - 10 Mar 2005 14:11 - 205 of 274

All buys today - could that news be coming soon ?

sutherlh1 - 10 Mar 2005 18:07 - 206 of 274

Nice bounce today from an oversold position. Would like to see some follow thru tomorrow to give some confidence that it is going to hold up around here. Let's hope for some encouraging news soon, otherwise it could drift off again.
