Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

FAT PIGS APPEARING ONCE AGAIN
"Former BBC director general George Entwistle will receive
one year's salary, worth £450,000, as part of a pay-off deal,
the BBC Trust has said.
He quit on Saturday after a Newsnight report led to a former
Tory treasurer being wrongly accused of child abuse. "
CONCLUSION
He has not fallen on his SWORD, but fallen on a bed of CASH
SHAME to accept £450.000 after 54 days on a badly done job

why to pay him anything. He has certainly promised something, so he should pay back his salary and some compensation to BBC..

the fact that entwistle was almost certainly pushed onto his sword has no bearing ........ there cannot be any justification for paying him more than his contractual dues (6 months) and of course one does wonder why he should receive anything at all ..... if he brought the corporation into disrepute, and that is presumably the cause of his demise, then how come that does not obviate the compensation clause in his contract?
surely chris patten has to follow ...... his position is completely untenable, now all the worse because he MUST have approved the engorged pay-off

Tim Davie just walked out in the middle of being interviewed on Sky news. He seems to be totally lacking in charm and any PR skills.

re - walked out
I do not now the ins and outs of the wlaked out, but knowing Sky being involved with the " murderers " or is the Murdoch's and their jelaousy/jate for BBC, Tim Davie should not have fallen for the interview in the first place.

not one of my family or any one from the cub is voting .

I'm in favour of the police vote and think it should rolled out to all professions. I'm contracted to perform xyz, but hey, times are tough and we don't really have enough people so my employers should get together and vote for which tasks are most important for me to complete so that I may statistically perform better.... Sounds good to me and not even a mention of a pay cut....!
