THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

E. coli bacteria arrested, prospect of 125 years in gaol!

We can report that E. coli bacteria have all been arrested for the heinous crime of sex discrimination. They stand accused of “causing excess bladder infections in women”. The chief defence council told a hostile scrum of journalists from The Guardian that his clients’ defence would be that there are differences between men and women that cause the difference in the infection rate. A visibly shocked Vince Cable stated that there were no differences between men and women whatsoever, men should kiss other men as often as they kiss women, have abortions etc. and bacteria of all types had no right to attack women more often than men. “Lock them up and throw away the key until they reform and promise to attack men just as often as women” he said.

Cynic,

Just got back from France.

Changed my mind about the Beaujolais Nouveau.

When act Beaune drank some. It had the "purplish" tint to it and also some body.

Was going to buy some cases on the way back up through Paris.

Although I tasted quite a few, they all seemed poor, thin and less than fruity.

May use the few I have for light casseroles.

You posted

"from sicily, it's worth getting hold of I Vigneri 2010 (about £20.00) ... though it's 14%, it does not drink anything like that heavy .... if you're interested, i'll look out the invoice at my office ..... the uk supplier has a great range of really unusual italian wines

"

If you have time I would be grateful if you could e-mail me the suggested information through Moneyam and I will post it on to one of my daughters in Australia.

She may be interested, but she knows what she is doing, I don't!

One of the ways to get around the "fiddling" and associated "corruption" with MPs' second home in London, would be for the the State to own and provide suitable living accommodation and office facilities for those MPs who at the time are working in London at the time.

Travelling expenses, could also provided at fixed rates relating to distances travelled.

They don't have to go to the Ritz for food. If they do so, it could be out of their own pockets.

I thought the "gravy train" of expenses had been cut back in the 70s and 80s.

Fred : you should try the primeur (in english nouveau)...from some of the camargue viticulteurs.....comes out before the beaujolais..(haven't tried it this year) but have the previous years : it is fantastic...better than the beaujolais, (good however that is), and believe it or not keeps until christmas...now the beaujolais is good, but beyond the second week in december ; it turns to ordinary red plonk without that fruity punch !

I recently become a victim of a clever 'Eastern European' scam while out shopping. Simply dropping into Sainsbury’s supermarket for a bit of shopping turned out to be quite an experience.

Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your male friends.

This is what happened to me.....

Two seriously good-looking, well-endowed East European 20-21 year-old girls came over to my car as I was loading my shopping into the car boot. Without being asked, they both started cleaning my windscreen, their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts.

When I thanked them and offered them a tip, they said 'No' and instead asked me if I’d be kind enough to give them a lift to another nearby supermarket, in my case, Tesco’s.

I agreed and they both got in the back seat. On the way, they started undressing, until both were almost completely naked. When I pulled over to remonstrate, one of them climbed over into the front seat and started crawling all over me, touching me intimately, and thrusting herself against me - I discovered later that the other one stole my wallet when I was so distratced ! A very cunning plan, that.

For your information, I had my wallet stolen October 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, 24th and 29th. On November 1st, 4th, 6th, 10th and 13th and twice yesterday.

Please warn all the older men you know to be on the lookout for this scam.

The best times seem to be just before lunch and about 4:30 pm in the afternoon.

P.S. Aldi have cheap imitation wallets on sale for £1.99 each but Lidl wallets are £1.75 and look more convincing.
