THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

No, the public don't care. I can't find anyone who cares. Do you?

Fred1new - 29 Nov 2012 20:41 - 19218 of 81564

Yes, I am part of the public and I care!

Haystack - 29 Nov 2012 20:56 - 19219 of 81564

Well you seem to be the only one. The whole is just trivia. I don't really care if newspapers pay the police for stories either.

Fred1new - 29 Nov 2012 21:00 - 19220 of 81564

As long as they support the party.

Haystack - 29 Nov 2012 21:12 - 19221 of 81564

Not party political at all.

I reckon that a plan devised by the British government is urgently required to build a dam across the straits between Spain-Gibraltar and Morocco backed up by all Med nations and supported by the EU......this is very urgent and if started now would not cost a fortune with so many nations involved....now..Whales ...Tuna-fish and such... all fish migration to be included in such a plan to dam the movement of water between the Atlantic and the Med...but it is vital to start now and this includes a passage-way (autoroute-motorway-superfast-train)..and tidal driven energy for the nearest countries to be included in this massive plan....this should be started now and not wait for the flooding that awaits the southern European countries and North Africa..THIS IS URGENT.

It's not in the Con party's interest to regulate the press as most of the press is the propaganda machine of the Con party.. always was and they want it to continue that way.

A phone for Friday nights.

Bend me, shape me - flexible phones 'out by 2013'

Imagine treating your phone like a piece of paper.

Roll it up. Drop it. Squish it in your backpack. Step on it - without any damage.

Researchers are working on just such handsets - razor-thin, paper-like and bendable.

There have already been prototypes, attracting crowds at gadget shows.

Sea-level rise from polar ice melt finally quantified

Melting of polar ice sheets has added 11mm to global sea levels over the past two decades, according to the most definitive assessment so far.

More than 20 polar research teams have combined forces to produce estimates of the state of the ice in Greenland and Antarctica in a paper in Science.

if it was NOT for the free press we would never have found out about the thiefs
in government
we need a free press and only crooks need to worry i do not worry and feel safe having a free press to inform the public ,
yes mistakes happen .

if any thing wants regulating it is the bent MPs parliament needs regulation

Fred1new - 30 Nov 2012 10:18 - 19226 of 81564

Free press, for whom?

The press, is in general, is made up of organisations driven by profit driven motivation.

Nothing wrong in that, but I would not like my local market to be flogging heroin and cocaine on its shelves.

I am glad that there is statutory regulations which "attempts to, or prevents this from happening. Also, I am happy to have a legal restrictions back up the regulations to reduce the opportunistic mavericks who wish to chance their luck.

Fred1new - 30 Nov 2012 10:20 - 19227 of 81564

TANKER
I also have been a long term supporter of the Conservative party (55yrs) and cannot now continue to associate myself with them.
Whether UKIP will be the answer remains to be seen but like you I seek a party who will stand by their word and for too many years now the Conservatives have failed me in this area.
