TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 02 Jul 2005 01:46

Hello,

As you can see, we have put the new bulletin boards live.

The migration went smoothly, though it look at little longer than I expected it to!

If you notice any problems on the boards, please post below.

Thanks.

Has this addition got anything to do with Error on clicking the Investor comments at the end of each Company?
Those people who know how to operate this "new" BB - can their knowledge be posted in a "help" section?
I'm sure it's a good idea but fail to understand what was wrong with it as it was - can anyone explain the significant improvements?

(nothing to do with BB - ) - but if you want to improve things why not post the DATE when I've clicked on an RNS - it tells me "this and that", but fails to convey the date (or share-price before/after the ann). To get this I have to back and forth - keeping a note. Could be all on the one page...conveniently... IMHO.
Regards.

I wanted to type {USD sign}60 and I did, but it doesn't display.
1)
2) ....
3) ><
{later...}
And they (the dollar signs) are all removed from the post.

BrianTrayda - 05 Jul 2005 23:25 - 197 of 388

When I am scrolling UP the list (using mouse wheel) looking at previous postings and get to the top of the page I then have to scroll all the way back down to the bottom to get to the 'earlier posts' button - totally illogical Mr.Spock!

BrianTrayda - 05 Jul 2005 23:26 - 198 of 388

$60
$60
$60

.$60
. $60

$.123

BrianTrayda - 05 Jul 2005 23:27 - 199 of 388

It's the (usd sign)60 - try it....

BrianTrayda - 05 Jul 2005 23:28 - 200 of 388

And a strong vote for a "Goto Last Msg" pseudo-button...
with the screen scrolled to it as well

BT,

As mentioned on the trhead, JT is aware of this problem and working to resolve it.

Hangon,

we are wroking to get the link from the quote page working to the Bulletin Boards. in the meantime, if you use the search facility on the boards you should be able to find any relevant threads you are looking for.

'$ OK.

BrianTrayda - 06 Jul 2005 08:21 - 205 of 388

$60 oil

BrianTrayda - 06 Jul 2005 08:22 - 206 of 388

Just a reminder. ;-)

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 06 Jul 2005 08:29 - 207 of 388

BrianTrayda,

Reminder about what?

BrianTrayda - 06 Jul 2005 08:45 - 208 of 388

:-) the $60 oil mentioned in preceeding message . coz I couldn't remind in oil thread last night coz the "$60" didn't work...

Oh, forget it........ :-)

Here's a design idea - the date/time msg number text at the top of each post - have that in grey rather than black. That would leave just the actual posted message text in black and make it easier to visually find the posted text instead of having to visually filter out the header from the body.

Kayak - 06 Jul 2005 20:13 - 209 of 388

This one seems to have slipped off your list :-) When you put HTML in posts as visible HTML, e.g. &ltimg src=""&gt and then edit the post, it doesn't convert the text back to escape sequences making editing it quite difficult. The old BB did.

Kyoto - 06 Jul 2005 20:46 - 210 of 388

If I post a message, then decide to blank it under an edit, when I post the edited (now blank message), it doesn't post it but instead keeps the message with the text in. If I preview the blank message it looks blank, but posting it doesn't replace the old message.

If I blank it - but put a space in - it's OK.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 06 Jul 2005 21:34 - 211 of 388

Kyoto,

That's becuase it the system assumes that a blank message is a mistake and it's to stop people accidently losing their text.

Well done in sorting out the links to the B/Boards it all seems to be working fine.

STORMCALLER - 07 Jul 2005 01:08 - 213 of 388

JT,
With the new functionality now available, particularly the enhanced squelch facility, could we perhaps have a monthly Most Squelched Poster, I am sure to be in with a chance of winning, maybe you could offer a smal token prize..??
