Space ** these fit in very well.

jj50 - 25 Nov 2004 22:30 - 19458 of 23498

Choccie, the boat changed colour!

chocolat - 25 Nov 2004 22:30 - 19459 of 23498

No probs, Spacie - gave me a bit of practice :)

It was in Turkey, opto - but it was last year's regatta, haven't got our piccies from this one yet.

Spaceman - 25 Nov 2004 22:30 - 19460 of 23498

Colin, depends if the drugs are any good, I am doing an Aussie run in a months time, do you need any more supplies? They have got some lovely sheep down there.

Sputnik - 25 Nov 2004 22:32 - 19461 of 23498

Very well thanks, we'll hold the fort while you go off to Aussie again, you lucky devil. Actually Tim a friend and I have been invited to do the Sydney Hobart race next Xmas, and it looks like we will be going so could meet you out there next year.

chocolat - 25 Nov 2004 22:33 - 19462 of 23498

Correct, Sput - only they gave me a fender to brush up on. ;)

chocolat - 25 Nov 2004 22:33 - 19463 of 23498

I have a couple of friends doing the ARC race in separate boats at the moment.

Sputnik - 25 Nov 2004 22:37 - 19464 of 23498

Choccie shall we fly out and meet them in St Lucia, thats a thought a Rum Punch wouldn't go amiss at the moment.

Spaceman - 25 Nov 2004 22:38 - 19465 of 23498

Colin, definateley that would be fun, last year we watched the start in Sydney and then went down to Hobart and watched the finish (or was it the year before). We normally arrive on boxing day, a friend always has a party in the afternoon and his flat overlooks the start.

Can I take part with my RYA stage 2 certificate???

jeffmack - 25 Nov 2004 22:39 - 19466 of 23498

looks very nice socs

chocolat - 25 Nov 2004 22:40 - 19467 of 23498

Oooh St Lucia - mind you don't tempt me, Sput.

www.worldcruising.com/arc

The boats I'm watching are the Anouk and the Marylin

Sputnik - 25 Nov 2004 22:43 - 19468 of 23498

Tim

How long did the average cruisers take to get to Hobart?

Socrates - 25 Nov 2004 22:43 - 19469 of 23498

Opto
It comes highly recommended but I can't afford to stay there. Apparently the service is second to none. None of this kettle and teabags in your room, fresh tea served when you ask for it.

Spaceman - 25 Nov 2004 22:44 - 19470 of 23498

Hang on I will check.

Sputnik - 25 Nov 2004 22:46 - 19471 of 23498

Choccie are the two yachts from the N/W

I'll go to the web site and check their progress

chocolat - 25 Nov 2004 22:46 - 19472 of 23498

Soz, jj - that other piccie was another friend's boat in the regatta - needless to say, they won - I think the clue might be in the little white blobby bits way in the background...

chocolat - 25 Nov 2004 22:48 - 19473 of 23498

The Marylin is owned by a French geezer. You can see who the owners are on the site - the Anouk is a 58' Swan - I flew back from Turkey last week with a guy who was going to crew on it.

jj50 - 25 Nov 2004 22:49 - 19474 of 23498

I didn't know there was a picture of me in the background, choccie :-)

Spaceman - 25 Nov 2004 22:49 - 19475 of 23498

Colin, checked but I didnt keep good records, we flew down on 27/12 and I am pretty sure the winners came in that afternoon. We stayed in hobart for the next 3 days or so and there were boats coming in all the time. It was fun there.

Spaceman - 25 Nov 2004 22:50 - 19476 of 23498

It was 2002/3 not 2003/4 that we went.
