Superscape was founded nearly twenty years ago, and has been dedicated throughout its history to the development of ground-breaking software technology for the creation and delivery of innovative, high quality interactive 3D applications.
Over the years, Superscape has amassed unparalleled expertise and experience in the development of 3D software capable of working within the constraints of limited memory devices, slow processor speeds and strictly controlled file sizes.
Drawing on this knowledge, Superscape has established a world-leading position in the development of industry-standard 3D technology and applications for mobile devices. The company's Swerve technology has been developed specifically for wireless environments in close collaboration with ARM, and comprises a 3D engine (Swerve Client), authoring tools (Swerve Studio) and a broad portfolio of 3D content, with particular emphasis on 3D games. Swerve is being adopted on a global basis by many of the mobile industry's leading players, together with world-renowned content and brand organisations.
Superscape has corporate headquarters in Hook, Hampshire (UK) and San Clemente, California (USA) with regional offices in Tokyo and Sydney. The company is quoted on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: SPS).
Superscape (SPS) has received various tips in the press and by Analysts recently which will certainly give impetous to the share price. Indicators are looking good with the RSI rising off an oversold position and the MACD crossing showing BULLISH signs for the stock.
The mobile gaming market is still in it's infancy but the projected revenue is enormous. Mobile operators are looking at tapping the Gameboy market as they feel that users will not want to carry around a multitude of technology and if they have a mobile phone which can double as a gaming station than people will prefer this option.
People should also look at the recent contracts which SPS have signed for their technology. This is a technology company which could well be a great success in 2004.

Article from SHARES magazine - this week.
Tim Freeborn met Superscape (SPS) chief executive Kevin Roberts and his team last week. If confidence could be bottled they would have needed a magnum or two. They certainly had a compelling story to tell. The company has already signed distribution deals with most of the top 15 mobile networks. By christmas at least 75% of mobile users worldwide should be covered.
Still looks dirt cheap.

Isnt this the problem with most shares that are going places? If you wait until the numbers and profit are on the table you do not make the big killing , but by going in early and using "intuition" your success rate can be a lot lower!Charts are great but you have to look at the fundamentals of ther business opportunity and see if its going to fly or not?eg Warthog was not my brightest moment but the games and product were good unfortunately my intuition did not tell me the management could not manage a "XXXX up in a brewery", but then with ASOS hey ho brighter days came.
"IF" mobile games take off Superscapes management will need spacesuits!Just my intuition speaking you understand!

The beauty of contracts signed with the major manufacturers means that SPS could be producing games that go onto the handsets as standard. So whether or not 'games' take off, SPS will be receiving revenues. Personally I think the 3d market in general will take off - things always move on. And the games market will be BIG in places like japan, europe will take a little longer I think. All IMO of course, but I plan to hold on to SPS.
Remember the results are being published on the 15th Oct.

I understand that games could be loaded onto a phone upon purchase but i thought i read that they were looking to make the games very inexpensive (5 each)and that kids/teenagers would be buy them regularly ( sort of pocket money affordability)

willfagg,
SPS (as well as many other companies) already produce games on demand and downloadable games, beit via the Internet, WAP or Text. The market for 3d games will only grow when the phones that support them are available, which is why I personally think this year has been huge for SPS. If the christmas sale of 3g phones goes ahead then we should see revenues start to come in. The results next month will be the thing to watch. But remember that Swerve is not limited to games, its a 3d technology that can be used for anything. And I'm sure everything will become 3d very soon. How many 2d PC games do you get nowadays?

i quite agree. I suppose i am surprised that if the potential is what i believe why has the share price not done more already? Why has everyone selected and signed up with SPS? maybe it as you say and there needs to be more technology out there capable of taking advantage of the product

willfagg,
I can only guess that SPS is seen as having potential, but there is nothing stopping the big telecoms from producing there own equivalent to Swerve. That is probably why SPS are keen to get as many games developers using it now as possible, with the hope that support is there for the chip. Swerve is based on a Java std though, and the world seems to like Java so I believe the chip will take off. Time as always will tell.
kind regards,

SUPERSCAPE ANNOUNCES CONTRACT WIN WITH 10TH TOP TIER NETWORK OPERATOR
- rapidly growing list of top tier operators distributing Superscape
mobile games
Superscape Group plc (LSE: SPS), leaders in revolutionary entertainment for
mobile phones announces another key operator win in its drive to sign up all
fifteen top tier operators. Superscape now has two-thirds of its targeted
operators bringing the company's games to their networks. A further sixty
regional operators will also deliver Superscape games to their consumers via a
previously announced publishing partnership.
Kevin Roberts, CEO, Superscape Group plc said: 'The pace of distribution
agreement wins with key operators is very encouraging and will ensure that we
begin to generate royalty revenues this year. 2005 will, I believe, see a
dramatic acceleration in these revenues.
'This most recent agreement not only opens up a new geographic region for
Superscape but is also with one of the world's most successful operators in
terms of mobile games distribution and revenue generation. I am delighted that
we are able to bring together the excitement and quality of Superscape's mobile
games with their undoubted skills and expertise in profitable games
distribution.'
Recent estimates suggest that those top tier operators with whom Superscape has
already reached agreement or is in negotiation are generating 80% of mobile
gaming revenues. The company now has both direct and indirect agreements in
place with, amongst others, Verizon, Vodafone, Cingular, AT&T, Nextel, TMobile,
Sprint, Telefonica, China Mobile and 02.
Mobile gaming revenues are forecasted to grow from $1.1 billion in 2003 to over
$8 billion in 2007.
Superscape is also continuing to win high profile brands from leading
entertainment organisations. This ensures that the company's portfolio of games
is being continuously expanded to satisfy the demand for new titles from
consumers around the world. Early feedback on Superscape games from a number of
network operators, according to Roberts, indicates that the titles are becoming
firm favourites with mobile gamers.
Comment: Skids, do some research, it would take a lot of time and effort to produce an equivalent to Swerve, it is embeded in the ARM 11 processor so you would have to seriously do some work to nail the world mobile chip design and defeat ARM in the first place! There is only one other major competitor on the chip front! with regards to the news above, another piece of the jigsaw completed! The news is now starting to speak for itself, like Shares said, they are dirt cheap!

ACQUISITION OF US AND RUSSIA BASED SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEAMS
Friday 1st October 2004, Hook, Hampshire, UK: Superscape Group plc (LSE: SPS),
leaders in revolutionary entertainment for mobile phones, today announces the
acquisition of the entire ordinary share capital of Chicago-based 3D Wireless
Games Inc (3DWG) together with the business and certain assets of its associated
Moscow-based business, OOO Dakor (Dakor), for a total consideration of
US$250,000 in cash and the allotment of 600,000 new ordinary shares of 10 pence
each in Superscape.
The acquisition of 3DWG has been completed and cash consideration of $200,000
has been paid and 500,000 new ordinary shares of 10 pence each have been issued
to Don Wisniewski, the former shareholder of 3DWG. Mr Wisniewski joins
Superscape with immediate effect. Completion of the acquisition of the business
and certain assets of Dakor is conditional upon the approval of the Russian
Federal Antimonopoly Services, the receipt of which is expected to be received
in approximately 4 weeks. The employees of Dakor have joined Superscape's newly
established Russian operating company with immediate effect.
Superscape has been working with 3DWG and Dakor over the past year and is a
significant customer of both. Without the turnover provided by Superscape, the
turnover and net assets of both businesses would be negligible. The acquisition
is not expected to have a significant impact on earnings in this financial year.
Founded by Don Wisniewski, 3DWG and Dakor are recognised market leaders in the
development of innovative games for mobile devices. This strategic acquisition
will further strengthen Superscape's position as a leading technology based
entertainment company. 3DWG and Dakor offer Superscape very experienced,
creative games development resources based in the relatively low-cost
environment of Russia. Utilising this 'offshore' resource model will enable
Superscape to continue to support its continued aggressive growth pattern,
whilst retaining strict control of the Group's labour costs.
Kevin Roberts, CEO, Superscape Group plc commented: 'I am delighted to welcome
Don Wisniewski and his team to Superscape. Superscape has been working with
this team over the past year with excellent results. Don has an outstanding
pedigree in the wireless games industry and I am confident that his experience
will be a most valuable addition to our management team. This acquisition is a
true win:win for both teams.'
Don Wisniewski, CEO, 3D Wireless Games said: 'I have always been impressed by
the innovation and quality of Superscape's technology and believed that it had
the potential to deliver an entirely new type of wireless gaming experience. My
belief in this has only been strengthened as my team and I have worked with the
software over the course of the last year and witnessed the reaction to the
resultant games from wireless professionals around the globe.
'I regard the acquisition of 3DWG by Superscape as a natural progression for
both companies and am very enthusiastic about our combined future.'
Application has been made for 500,000 ordinary shares to be admitted to the
Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on the London Stock
Exchange's main market for listed securities. It is expected that admission and
dealings will become effective on 6 October 2004. Application will be made for a
further 100,000 shares to be admitted to the Official List of the UK Listing
Authority and to trading on the London Stock Exchange's main market for listed
securities following receipt of the relevant approvals from the Russian Federal
Antimonopoly Services.
Comment: It seems that KR has been watching too many of those old Remmington adverts, he liked the company so much he just had to buy it. If they do a good job, and they must be, then to provide the goods at lower cost than your competitors goves a competitive advantage. Ok they're not going to make an impact on revenues but they should reduce the forward cost base, only good news here for existing shareholders.
