Buy a copy on eBay, Treblewide... you'll need your own product key for the cheap ones though.

Treblewide - 19 Jul 2004 16:22 - 2006 of 11003

Big problems with streaming.Just grey screens.Downloaded Java still wont work.
Any ideas.Emptied Temp internet files etc

Spaceman - 20 Jul 2004 00:15 - 2008 of 11003

Iain, did it used to work? have you changed installed/uninstalled anything? I would uninstall jave and then reininstall it from scratch.

Seymour Clearly - 20 Jul 2004 00:18 - 2009 of 11003

Might the java be my problem with a blank stockwatch screen and no pop-ups? I notice some of the pages I try to load that are blank orhave blanks on them have a javascript line on the bottom grey window at first.

If so how do I uninstall and reinstall Java?

I used to be good at PC's when we had DOS, a command prompt etc. I can still remember a few of them - fat lot of good they are now!!!

Spaceman - 20 Jul 2004 00:27 - 2010 of 11003

SC, i dont think its likely to stop pop ups !

How to reinstall java depends on what version you have, I dont use Xp but I think it comes preinstalled with MS java?

I use the SUN java runtime which can be removed in the normal way from add/remove programs and can be downloaded and installed from here

http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp

NOTE THIS LINK WILL GO TO AN AUTO DOWNLOAD PAGE, CANCEL IT OF YOU DONT WANT SUN JAVA.....

EDIT, you can install SUn Java over the MS version, I think the sun version is the one to use.

Seymour Clearly - 20 Jul 2004 00:35 - 2011 of 11003

I want pop-ups - Level 2 seems to act as a pop-up!

Will give it a go. Time for bed now!! Thanks.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 20 Jul 2004 07:09 - 2012 of 11003

Iain,/Seymour,

Are you still having problems with streaming on stockwatch?

Ian

Seymour Clearly - 20 Jul 2004 07:38 - 2013 of 11003

Just on one (new) PC, not on my old one. It's a completely blank page, nothing at all, no header or anything.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 20 Jul 2004 07:41 - 2014 of 11003

Seymour,

Have you tried downloading the latest Java plugin as suggested on this thread?

Ian

Iain - 20 Jul 2004 11:22 - 2015 of 11003

Sorted now Ian.
Formatted my drive last night.Did fresh Install of XP PRO.When i tried to download updates i kept getting a Timeout message.Managed to remove that worm. Then i had a Worm 32 virus alert when i installed NAV.
How are they still on my computer after formatting?
Using genuine xp disk by the way

Seymour Clearly - 20 Jul 2004 12:44 - 2016 of 11003

Downloaded new Java but still get blank. Have tried emailing medion about this but no reply yet.

Grrr. I'm sure it's something simple.

scussy - 20 Jul 2004 13:46 - 2017 of 11003

Anyone on here using BlinkX ?

Apparently, this is the best thing since sliced Microsoft Windows. However, I wondered if it is resource hungry?

prodman - 20 Jul 2004 14:28 - 2020 of 11003

SC - Have a look

http://www.blinkx.com/overview.php

stockbunny - 21 Jul 2004 14:47 - 2021 of 11003

just waiting for a more experienced pair of hands to be free to assist me in installing
the new one. Thanks again!
