Snappy - spoke to a criminal litigator acquaintance who says the following (no liability accepted whasoever - this is a non-legal, gratuitous piece of friendly advice ..... add any other disclaimer that you so choose !)
1. You cannot do anything before you appear at the Magistrates Court
2. Present the calibration certificate and a clear copy of the Home Office calibration requirements
3. Request that the speed camera evidence is not admissible in evidence before the court as it does not conform to minimum calibration requirements under the law.

It seems that you have a very good chance of success, on the basis of current court practice - but it is not absolutely open and shut. Best of luck and stay in 3rd gear from now on.

snappy - 06 Dec 2005 14:00 - 2029 of 2262

cheers Pach and yes I will consider that totally non binding.

It's was a handheld laser speed detection device. In court tomorrow for a case management hearing so I will object to it at tomorrows hearing.

I'll try to stick to 3rd gear Pach

A great post from nkb156 on iii - hope he/she won't mind me pasting it here

Mon 22:59 Muppets... nkb156 31

It took Greg Bolcer little under 12 months to start from nothing and create a viable start-up business.

During the same time it took SW little under 12 months to take an established business and convert it to nothing.

Our old friend Tony Caplin thought he invented the internet "I am the father of the internet" were his words in public.

Caplin was one of our non-executive directors. He did not write newsletters he created news of the criminal investigation type

Keith Bigsby went on helicopter rides and developed an interest in expensive wine all on company expense.

Keith was our financial guru who we employed to pay $24M for a company that was in debt and has so far managed to sell well nothing. He sold our hardware division and they became profitable overnight! Apparently he came from SUN and WANG.

We were also very luck to have Hugh. He was our company PR Consultant who kept telling us that the narrative was looking better than ever.

Whenever the company needed to give the share price a boost he was the man for the job. He could spin any story and get it published in respectable media problem was it was unethical the way he did things.

Then there was David Lea. I can't blame him because whilst all this was going on I suspect he was too busy researching into the best pension deals - SIP Pension, Stakeholder Pension maybe a SIP or two or voluntary contributions, tax exempt property - maybe a pink cottage.

And finally there was us buying shares, researching siht on Google trying to find leads for the company, promoting it whenever the opportunity arose. Analysing to death every buy and sell we never found out the truth - until now.

At one time our product portfolio was bigger than Walmarts but we sold sod all.

And just when one man was about to make a difference guess what? They fired him. Even that was not a simple process. Apparently they fired the wrong man confusion in the conference call or something. David meant one thing and Keith took it to mean another etc. etc. etc.

Someone please tell me - how can one company attract and hire so many muppets?

For me the correct answer to that question alone would be worth at least 10p a share.

I suppose its business as usual:

So when is the AGM?
And was that a 1M buy in disguise

Hey snap,
I got stopped years back by plod, saying that he had to `attain` a speed of 90mph to catch me and guestimated I was doing over 100 mph , before I slowed down to 70- that on the M6 at Shap , summer time 6.00am- road empty.
Being a smart arse young engineer at the time I drew a graph, applied a simple formula (v=u.t.+1/2 a.t. squared -it`s 11+ physics ), which proved - and in reality-I wasn`t doing 100.
The RAC provided me with a solicitor free of charge, who said that these guys had a court hearing for speeding monthly- there was NO other crime in the area, and I should plead guilty, pay the fine (5) and claim the costs (incl. the fine ) from the RAC.
Doesn`t pay to procrastinate at times

good luck!!!!!!!

Poor dear old yuffer has me filtered so he won`t know that his "Save The Yuffer /Puffer Fund", on In2T is now a remarkable 53, a huge leap from last nights
52- shows the faith the Army have in the Cardies.

Stupendous performance today chaps- all we need is a totally useless sacrifice, to prove to the media that we are in earnest (sorry Ernie).
I nominate yuffer to be immolated at the AGM.
Imagine the media frenzy as he pushes aside Security, opens up his demob-suit ( for it is he Corporal yuffer), sets alight to the TAD share certificates with his lighter, and cries ---

Lets do the show right here ..............

"ZIP GOES A $$$million"

break a leg-purlease!!!!!!!!!

yuff - 07 Dec 2005 09:41 - 2034 of 2262

snappy
I read an article in the sunday times a while back and they had a hand held operated laser gun showing a wall doing 44mph, you must have a very good chance of getting off!
ps would prefer to see a picture of the real driving genius, driving a red car of course!

Gail The Chin - 07 Dec 2005 11:05 - 2035 of 2262

olie-dont get your comment about gay marriages-are you saying my hubbie is an old woman the? Hope not 'cos he wont be pleased.

See waht you mean Yuff about Jamies mom and olie-fit like a glove.
Hope olie wasn't drunk when stopped at 6.00am obviously not speeding-the cop was probably gay looking for an early morning you know what with olie-yuk! :(

pachandl - 07 Dec 2005 11:27 - 2036 of 2262

Blinger - that takes me back exactly 36yrs (doing O level Physics). V = U + AT, V(squared) - U(squared) = 2AS, S=U + 1/2AT(squared). I even surprise myself sometimes - although I have probably made some mistake - never good at Physics.

pachandl - 07 Dec 2005 16:18 - 2037 of 2262

Snappy - any joy today in court? Or will you be dusting down the old bicycle?

snappy - 07 Dec 2005 16:36 - 2038 of 2262

A very intimidating experience because I was expecting just the clerk to the court, cps representative and myself to be present for the case management hearing but three magistrates were sitting too.

One of the magistrates was going to say something to me and got told not to by the clerk.

One of the other magistrates looked surprised when I confirmed my not guilty plea and they reminded me that the sentence would be less if I pleaded guilty to which I declined.

They didn't want to discuss evidence at all only asking if I admitted being at the place listed on the summons at the date and time to which I would have preferred not to have been asked but as they did I confirmed that I was there.

Trial date was set for next year.

blinger - 07 Dec 2005 19:12 - 2040 of 2262

pach- ah you filled in the blanks, some memory you have boy!, I doubt if an honours graduate these days would be able to quote that theorem from memory

blinger - 07 Dec 2005 19:24 - 2041 of 2262

super
good man yourself- I shorted PRTY tonight with a tight stop-loss i.e. 20p, talking to a friend who said he and a dozen others are on line poker mad, but never use PRTY sparked me off.
Losses, blimey I am compiling this years I.R. CGT return,. and have put in two lots of MONI to reduce the pain ( now virt. zero)+Yorkshire Group (negligible value) and a couple of others; I had forgotten the shafting we got back in the early part of the millenium, still this year has been quite good on the Blue-Chips.

blinger - 07 Dec 2005 19:30 - 2042 of 2262

Turning to TAD, jaysus what a debacle, I find it amazing that people are still buying, that grown men really believe that a bunch of minority shareholders can not only sack board members, but can run the company, and that the share price has collapsed AGAIN.
Add to that the (to me) obvious GEM trade tonight, presumably obtained for the Xmas and other non-earned and agreed bonuses.
I really wonder about the sanity of some holders , yuff apart of course, no doubt about him.

blinger - 07 Dec 2005 20:24 - 2043 of 2262

yep,
you could buy that helicopter for just 2400 TAD shares, according to the gurus a while back 2400 TAD shares were about to buy a REAL one

lololol!!!!!!!!!!

pachandl - 07 Dec 2005 20:36 - 2044 of 2262

Snappy - it all depends upon how busy the Magistrates court is in your area. With Christmas coming the driving problems increase so the MCs are almost set up to assume guilty pleas. I will keep my fingers crossed for you - but as I said before your argument is not open and shut. Best of luck and don't let the formal surroundings put you off - MC clerks seem to thrive on defendants squirming.

blinger - 07 Dec 2005 20:56 - 2045 of 2262

I see the City Slickers are about to be sentenced- for up to 7 years apparently, however plod is still looking for certain people who spread &ramped the rumours on bb`s prior to the "tips" being published, using multi-aliases too one hears???

hmmmmmm!!! Who on earth could these sort of people be?

Beau62 - 08 Dec 2005 08:33 - 2046 of 2262

snap

Are you representing yourself?

Beau

Beau62 - 08 Dec 2005 08:33 - 2047 of 2262

Read that last night and had a little chuckle.
