The joys of system testing at 3:00am...

Socrates - 07 Sep 2003 10:08 - 2050 of 23498

OK, so what are they?

little willie - 07 Sep 2003 10:20 - 2051 of 23498

Socs...depends what you mean by "in"?
Don't play cricket anymore but then again, I was usually out.
"In" the wotsit?..... My normal state of affairs with mrs.lw, just the depth that varies..
"In" the Inn...very frequently but not so much the Cafe Inn.

Sad to say I spend much more time now back on the old channel which to be truthful I find quicker and slicker but I do miss the cafe banter.
Still look in here daily but will probably stop when freebie runs out.

I never did find out what happened on the other channel, how and why that cafe closed...Was it closed overnight so to speak?
I was incommunicado for a period of about six weeks when moving over here before we got a phone etc. and when we did everything had changed, luckily I had already got this channel registered so could continue but am a little dissapointed in the set-up.

Jeff..I tested my system at about the same time, working ok so went back to kip.

jeffmack - 07 Sep 2003 14:59 - 2052 of 23498

Jeffmack
Two things spring to mind.
One, you shouldn't be in your office on a Sunday.
Two, if you are in your office you shouldn't be day dreaming looking out of your window, LOL.

I used to visit up there quite frequently, Gresham Street, is it still there or has it been recycled?

This_is_me - 07 Sep 2003 19:07 - 2055 of 23498

LW who do you support in the test series now? Some facinating cricket.

little willie - 07 Sep 2003 22:17 - 2056 of 23498

TIM ::Today England, last thursday SA! I do think this test is one of the best since the Botham test when we licked the Aussies, Flintoff was a revelation today, just a shame he didn't get those five extra runs.

Seriously tho', when I was in UK in July my daughters fella had got me a England rugby cap plus England cricket cap and a couple of English cross of St George flags.
When in UK I supported SA, indeed went to the 1st test 1st day wearing my SA golf cap just to wind my chums up but when over here I fly the flags out on my balcony so everyone coming up the fairway cannot miss seeing them, plus I have a banner on my golf buggy...basically I like winding folk up...in fairness here they take it better than at home wqhere I was called a traitor...lol..

The real fun starts next month with the Rugby World Cup 'cos that they really take seriously and they hate to admit that England have a great chance.
It being my main old sport, I too take it seriously so the cap will be firmly in place and dulcet tones of "Sweey Chariot" will echo out across the nearby green...especially when they're putting!!!

Socrates - 08 Sep 2003 08:22 - 2057 of 23498

I'll just settle in the corner here where I can see my monitor so that I can watch my portfolio go blue and have my full English breakfast.

hilary - 08 Sep 2003 08:26 - 2058 of 23498

Socs,

If you're off work this week, have you registered for your free week trial of L2 and premium services?

Socrates - 08 Sep 2003 08:40 - 2059 of 23498

Not yet Hilary, I will have a look later. Got a few jobs to do first.

jeffmack - 08 Sep 2003 08:55 - 2060 of 23498

Go for it Socs, sod the jobs. By the end of this week if you invest your pension wisely you could be a millionaire

Socrates - 08 Sep 2003 09:32 - 2061 of 23498

Jeff
You make it all sound so easy. Three of my last four buys are up over 30% and the fourth is static as I have expected it to be for a few days. I am fully invested at present, as far as I want to be any rate, and I am waiting for some of my old stocks to regain some value where I can liquidate them. Three should reach that state this week then I may have something to re-invest somewhere.

Are you at home today or at what I believe you call work? LOL.

vasey - 08 Sep 2003 09:54 - 2062 of 23498

Good morning, Socs! Almond croissant, please - and a coffee, thanks!

hilary - 08 Sep 2003 10:05 - 2063 of 23498

Socs,

It is easy. You just need to learn how to turn those 30%ers into 3 baggers.

:-)

Socrates - 08 Sep 2003 10:23 - 2064 of 23498

Vasey
Mmmmmm Almond croissant, is that with cream? I have some rather nice coffee for you Vasey. It's Called St Helena. Exclusive to Bettys of Harrogate and only 30 a packet.

Hilary
I'm a modest sort of a chap, 30% on all my investments would suit me fine, as long as it was each week. I've never had a one bagger yet, let alone a 3 bagger. No, I tell a lie, I had Midland Independent News. That was a 1 bagger, got taken over by Mirror Group I think. Heck, that was a long time ago.
