Bring Back Goldfinger and Doodlebug Petition (GDB)

Shortie - 03 Feb 2015 13:47

What's a forum without people posting, some friendly banter and opposing views. By MAMs decision to remove the above posters we now have less views and these forums have lost their humour and rich content. I say bring back GF and DB immediately.

Please post your support if you agree?

cynic - 20 Feb 2015 08:32 - 207 of 266

chris - you're sounding more and more like DB .... are you sure you're not one and the same?

if the above is typical of advfn, then clearly it remains every bit as nasty a site as it was 4 years ago when i briefly ventured there

==============

house prices roaring????
i think not, but below £2m they are slowly ticking up once more and the rental market, at least in central london, is as strong as it's ever been

MaxK - 20 Feb 2015 08:39 - 208 of 266

More bunkum, it's not quite what they say....

Britain's unlikely propery hotspots revealed: Margate, Slough and Clacton-on-Sea

Dozens of locations across the UK have increased in value by up to 50 per cent in the last year, according to a new report

cynic

You seem to have to much time on your hands

Fred had a death threat a while back , don't know the details but The police have narrowed the suspect down to a list of 3,000 names

Get back over to the Talk To Yourself Thread you lot , this thread is reserved purely for arguments not sensible chat about the economy ...

cynic - 20 Feb 2015 08:49 - 211 of 266

aldo - have actually been busy sorting out a prob for a client in india :-)

Stan - 20 Feb 2015 08:51 - 212 of 266

Yeah... What the jumper says -):

Stan - 20 Feb 2015 08:53 - 213 of 266

Alf,

When you have finished with India could you possibly have a look at the Ukraine and Middle East as well?

aldwickk - 20 Feb 2015 08:55 - 214 of 266

cynic

Goodness gracese me

cynic - 20 Feb 2015 08:55 - 215 of 266

by the way, here is what was actually written (telegraph) .....

Margate has seen a 46 per cent year-on-year percentage increase in SALES between 2013 and 2014, with 45 per cent for Slough and 44 per cent for Clacton-on-Sea.

nothing to do with prices of course, other than if demand is greater than supply, then prices will rise

MaxK - 20 Feb 2015 08:58 - 216 of 266

Indeed c, they sold 3 instead of 2.

cynic - 20 Feb 2015 08:58 - 217 of 266

sorry stan, but we don't deal in ukraine .... apart from the work attitude (not very good) the country and its companies have been pretty much bankrupt for years, so the risk of not getting paid is too high

by and large, m/e (and india) pay quite well once you've got their measure and worked with them for a while

Stan - 20 Feb 2015 09:39 - 218 of 266

The Poles still hate the Ukrainians, even their youngsters.

How about Nigeria?... Cash only of course -):

cynic - 20 Feb 2015 09:52 - 219 of 266

make sure you only deal with multi-nationals :-)

stan - if you happen to go to kiev, you should most definitely visit st michael's monastery
apart from being a most beautiful building, you will find the story of stalin's genocide by imposed starvation displayed on the outer wall ..... you will immediately realise why there is so much animosity between native ukrainians and russia

ExecLine - 20 Feb 2015 09:58 - 220 of 266

Why are you guys trashing this thread and not using the 'Talk to yourself thread'?

Balerboy - 20 Feb 2015 10:00 - 221 of 266

For my two penny worth...... I'd sooner have shortie back, why he took GF's side is a mystery.,.

Stan - 20 Feb 2015 10:02 - 222 of 266

Indeed Cynic, On the way to Krakow a couple of years ago the only person a young Ukrainian chap on the coach was taken off and virtually interrogated before being allowed to continue with us, think he got on in Berlin and was retuning to Poland where I think he lived.

He told us all Ukrainians get that treatment because of the Russians conduct after the Nazis were beaten, the Russians treatment of the Jews was almost just as bad as from the Nazis!

cynic - 20 Feb 2015 10:03 - 223 of 266

sorry EL
you're absolutely right ..... was not particularly aware to which thread i was posting, though i would not exactly call the dialogue above "trashing" which implies a level of vindictive abuse

cynic - 20 Feb 2015 10:04 - 224 of 266

BB - i think the GF incident was the last straw for shortie; he was also pretty fed up with the abuse he got from certain other posters who did not like the fact that he primarily shorts stocks and indices

jimmy b - 20 Feb 2015 10:13 - 225 of 266

I told them that but was ignored .

Get back over to the Talk To Yourself Thread you lot , this thread is reserved purely for arguments not sensible chat about the economy ...

jimmy b - 20 Feb 2015 10:15 - 226 of 266

Who did shortie get abuse from cynic ? i never saw it and i used to follow the ftse250 thread
