Hello 8 ball,
It's not just coffee that Brazil is famous for.

Any time you need some help with that Me will be first in the queue Hilary!! Even if I have to threaten old socks with odor eaters to keep him back.
After watching the Davis Cup I've decided that I could take up tennis at a professional level after all - I'm not that exhausted after a couple of sets as Greg was!

Just a question on that picture, Hilary. Are you doing it by instalments?
Yours in hope.

Jeff,
Did you manage to placate Hazelewen? She seemed to be suffering the after effects of a dodgy Ruby.

Jeff,
You sold her one of your dodgy 78's. Remember?
She reckons that 78 wasn't so much the speed that it was meant to whizz around the turntable ........ more the number of pieces it was in when it fell through her letterbox.

Ended up costing me money those bloody 78's. They all arrived in 78 pieces.

Hilary that was quite a shock - that last picture is just like the wife's mother! Thought for a minute that PPL had cloned her out of her ashes and the horror of it had made them give up!!!!!
PS told the wife that one and Me shins still hurt!!

Hello folks, it's old Socks recovering from a computer fatal error. This message is sent to you from a brand new, nearly all singing and dancing PC. When I can the darned thing to work properly, I never had this problem with Windows ME, this XP Home is a disaster area.
Glad to see you are all alive and kicking but must dash now, got some more button pressing to do.
Tara for now.

Poor Socs! I remember upgrading to XP Home a few months ago. Lost contacts book in Outlook Express and had to get a friend to 'reconstitute' some important files that were still there but XP couldn't open! A stressful time. Keep at it though. It will work eventually.
Having said that, I'm told I need a complete reinstall. (No chance! I still remember the last one!)

Computers are wonderfull things, just like wives - when they do what they are told! They are prone to take fits of going slow and crash frequently, often need new expensive bits, are frustrating, don't look as good as more recent models etc. I think that computers suffer from PMT too since they go barmy for no good reason!
(I am definately not telling the wife this one!!)

Evening all, relief at last. All set up and running smoothly, touch wood. Had a ghastly time. Couldn't load programmes, USB wouldn't work and to cap it all I loaded Norton anti-virus and found I had The Blaster Worm and the Welchia Worm as well. Still I've successfully removed them with the aid of Symantecs removal tools and Outlook Express loads up in a milli-second and not the half a minute it was taking before.

I have the same problem as you. All my contacts are on my old PC which I think I will try to fix myself. My USB problem was a corker because I use a USB Flash Drive for my back-up, so I could not read any of my finacial data or genealogical files.
Still I'm now up and running and just a few odds and ends to sort. So, I guess it's time to break out the bubbly and sherry trifle and get on with life.
