The Company Zone on moneyAM shows the Leadcom final dividend as 9.4p, dividend yield 2.29% and ex-div on 12/4 (next week).
Surely the 9.4p can't be right?
Anybody know the correct figure & when it's paid please?

"The Board has committed to a progressive dividend policy that is consistent
with delivering its strategy of continued growth. In this regard it has
approved a final dividend of 2 cents per ordinary share, gross of any
applicable Israeli withholding tax. This dividend will be paid in GBP on 16 May
2006 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 18 April 2006."

Thanks pp - I assume that is $ cents so about 1.14p ps?

PapalPower - 07 Apr 2006 09:48 - 218 of 955

Yes schiff its US$.

Another benefit for us in the UK, with the US$ getting stronger and said to be going to possible 1.6 to the pound later this year, this also boosts LEAD's earnings, in sterling terms :)

A bit of insti swapping here, with one selling and another buying, so the price will hold around this level until its complete, and then we should be moving upwards and onwards.

Likely to be Uni's selling to another, as they never hold on very long.

Bit of a pre-Easter shuffle, hoping it leads to a post Easter move up to a new higher trading level.

PapalPower - 17 Apr 2006 16:07 - 221 of 955

First phase of bidding starts on April 28th. Keep your fingers crossed LEAD holders, for this could be the "company maker" for LEAD which gives the SP a juicy re-rating (the reason those insti's snapped up full value LEAD shares with no discount recently... ? ) ;)

Its nothing at the moment, but could be......so keep an eye :)

BSNL, Indias state-run telco with both fixed and mobile operations, has announced details of a tender for what will be the worlds largest single mobile equipment contract. The new GSM/UMTS network is to have a capacity of 45.5 million subscribers, the cost of which the Indias local press speculates to be anywhere between US$2.5 bn and US$4 bn. It is not thought, however, that one supplier will get the entire order. The two-phase bidding process for the contract is scheduled to begin on 28 April.

While the Tier One mobile network suppliers -- such as Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola, Alcatel, Siemens. Lucent and Nortel -- are all expected to submit bids, they will have to adhere to a long list of strict criteria. This includes a commitment to manufacturing a minimum of 30 per cent of the equipment in India, backed up a manufacturing bank guarantee (MBG) worth five per cent of the contract awarded. The MBG would be paid to BSNL in event of a default on the 30 per cent indigenous manufacturing quota. The successful bidder(s) will also have to set up local software centres for providing GSM/UMTS equipment support.

In addition, the successful bidder(s) will need to have experience in the planning, engineering, supply and installation, and commissioning of at least a total of 20 million lines of GSM900 and/or GSM1800. Moreover, they will need to have experience of rolling out and supporting a GSM network -- with a minimum two-million subscriber capacity -- within a maximum time-frame of nine months.

Bidders (or their collaborators) should also have at least two core UMTS networks running on 3GPP Release 4 or a higher version in different countries. These 3G networks should be running for at least six months on a commercial basis by the time the bidding process begins.

Last but not least in BSNLs long list of conditions, the bidder should be a profit earning company with a minimum annual turnover of US$1.8 bn in the last two years.

Winners of the of the contract will roll out the GSM/UMTS mobile network in three phases across BSNLs licensed areas (other than in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya). The first phase of the rollout, comprising 17.5 million new mobile lines, can use kit manufactured outside of India, but the 30 per cent indigenous manufacturing commitment must be made up in phases two and three, each comprising extra mobile subscriber capacity of 14 million.

All quiet, which is good, the calm before the storm.

Cannot expect anything much from LEAD with the India tender preperations going on now, they will be all out preparing for it I think.

PapalPower - 20 Apr 2006 13:46 - 225 of 955

Good, a few more sellers around, my target is a final top up at 80p (or 79p), hoping we get there before the tender news :)

Oh well, my below 80p top up might be in jeopardy now :(

PapalPower - 25 Apr 2006 11:17 - 228 of 955

News could be coming soon rumour has it, I am not expecting any news on the massive multi billion dollar India deal, as tendering does not start until the 28th April, but there could be other news first..... ???

schiff - 25 Apr 2006 14:21 - 229 of 955

PapalPower - 27 Apr 2006 08:13 - 231 of 955

Up again and looking strong :)

PapalPower - 28 Apr 2006 00:53 - 232 of 955

After being aggressively on the bid (to fill an order) ALTI jumped on the offer yesterday afternoon, in what looks like an attempt to "keep a lid" on the price while they complete the order they are filling. Its all positives signs, and a move up to the 90p to 100p range should now be ahead prior to us getting news, as news should I hope then throw LEAD through the 100p level. It would be nice to have an initial breach of 100p, will just have to see how strong the buying is ahead of news on the India tender.

Kivver - 28 Apr 2006 09:17 - 233 of 955

Nice rise on this one PP since you brought it our attention, a good sign of things to come with your other tips!!!

PapalPower - 28 Apr 2006 12:04 - 234 of 955

Kivver, the market seems to like the new management appointed today at LEAD.

Here is some information on the new chairman, looks a good egg to have :
