rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

meanwhile, another down day progresses though the roads are empty and thus the markets almost certainly comatose

John Williams from the Fed gave a half hour interview on CNBC, he gave a very positive outlook for jobs market in 2019, also saying that the Fed is not inflexible.

well that euphoria did not last long ..... now just +50

and of course today, DOW collapses once again - currently down 480 which gives back about half of yesterday's surge

nothing to cheer the spirits quite like the new year getting off to a shitty start, and i fear volatility is about the best that can be hoped for at least several months to come

On what basis C/D?

Some stocks are oversold. I think oil price will recover a bit. That should help BP Shell as they are the largest cap.

Then again it could all turn to custard
