David Anderson (CROCODILE)

Bullshare - 25 May 2004 10:53

It is with deep regret I have to inform everyone that Dave Anderson(Crocodile) sadly passed away last night in his sleep.

This is a complete shock to all his family and friends, therefore can I ask everyone to respect their privacy and not phone his home etc.

David was the most likable and open person I have ever met and a huge friend of mine and MoneyAMs.

Whatever I post will never come near doing justice to this great man, so I will simply stop here.

Mike

20.13 I have had a few brief conversations with David's family today. Despite all that has happened they have managed to briefly log onto MoneyAm and seen the numerous postings. I know they are moved by the response. The family are in the process of organising David's funeral but matters are slightly complicated with the Bank Holiday weekend. I will post more in due course when I have some more information.

26 May :I have received many many e-mails with offers of help and offers of sympathy. Many thanks for all these and apologises if I have not been able to reply but I will get round to it. I will also make sure those that have asked me to pass on any messages to Davids family get sent on.

In the meantime I know many of you are wondering what happened. At this stage it is not for me to go into details but suffice to say it is of a natural cause and totally unexpected.

David had withdrawn a little from the site over the last few weeks as he felt he wanted to devote more time to looking after Maria who is very poorly. Although he did not post much in the day I do know he was constantly logging on. He still continued to burn the midnight oil to create each day traders thread and he would spend about 15 hours each weekend creating the Weekend/Monday thread.

16.34 26/May Have come off the phone from Rachel(David's daughter). Today is not an easy day for the family, I think they were so busy yesterday that today has been harder as it has had time to sink in. We talked about Funeral arrangements and Rachel mentioned that they could not book anything yet but will let me know as soon as possible. She mentioned once again about all the postings which they have been busy reading and thank everyone for all the kind words and thoughts. They will arrange a public funeral as they know a lot of people would like to attend.

A message from David's Family:(posted on David's website Snappytrader.com)

Just sitting here looking at the screen, very, very, very numb.

One of a kind in a pretty selfish business. The best.

I am very sad.

I had the pleasure of meeting David twice. His affect on my trading career has been significant, and i will continue my path as a trader with the constant aspiration that one day I may achieve what David Anderson did so well.

A legend in his own lifetime in UK trading, and now beyond.

DocProc - 25 May 2004 11:50 - 33 of 321

What absolutely terrible news. I am so very saddened to hear this.

David, 'Croc', 'Crocodile'. A snappy and gentlemanly trader indeed.

Our Croc was so very charming and professional and always conducted his business in a way whereby he always put much more in than he expected to take out.

Farewell Croc, old friend. I am honoured to be numbered among those who have known you and been able to benefit from your help.

Sue, who has also experienced your kind and classy hospitality, joins with me in offering our deepest condolences to your family.

Balmoral - 25 May 2004 11:54 - 38 of 321

Like everybody else I am completely devestated - David once came to our London flat to help me install a computer - and my husband met him for 60 seconds and said later that night that David was a special guy! - He was right!

robblay - 25 May 2004 11:59 - 39 of 321

Definitely one of life's best.

I am also numbed by this sad news and would like to join with you all in sending deepest sympathies to David's family.
