Evenin All, Socs send me a pint of either Marstons Pedigree or Fullers London Pride via satellite please, my system needs detoxing from all this wine.
Like Canada I'm trying to drink it dry!
By the by, Jeff also sent me the info re pdx, know him to be a great chap but failed to follow his info and now I'm doing a Basil Fawlty on myself, hitting my head on the wall. They were 47p to buy then!!
Regained some of my losses from past few days today but dissapointed to see it drop through the 4200 as I thought we were past those troubles.
Guess some good news from the yankees would help; such a shame we're influenced so largely by that lot. Same with the dollar; if there was some strengthening of it I'd see the rand/pound weaken allowing me to bring a decent amount in at maybe 14 to the .
Just brought another 3 bed appartment today, it will be built by May '04 and is virtually on the beach overlooking Table Bay/Robben Island, place called Blaubergstrand. Its a top surfing beach, about 2 miles long and home to the world surfing championship every year yet its only about 14k from Cape Town. Will be letting it out as a exclusive holiday let to Brits from about this time next year, special rates for Cafe crowd..lw

Sorry but you favourites are all gone. We are waiting for the brewers dray to turn up, one of the horses has gone lame. I've sent a few electrolitres of Theakstones Old Peculiar, I hope that will do.

Should we start an "I missed out on PDX" society?

jeffmack - 02 Oct 2003 21:09 - 2213 of 23498

I know I told you so.. but didnt buy myself. Just back from a few pints of the black stuff and feeling very mellow

vasey - 02 Oct 2003 21:50 - 2214 of 23498

and I'm back from my evening class. Quick scoff of pasta and a glass of red...and off to the cafe...another glass of the superb red, please Mr Socs!

jeffmack - 02 Oct 2003 22:02 - 2215 of 23498

vasey
I have the P800 and very good it is. I'm due an upgrade in Nov so will probably decide between XDA and P900.

This_is_me - 02 Oct 2003 22:04 - 2216 of 23498

Hilary

Thanks - I will probably make a small investment at some point.

LW I thought Blabber Strand was an Aussie beach where they talked up their chances in the world rugby cup!

vasey - 02 Oct 2003 22:10 - 2217 of 23498

jeff: The XDA II sounds a great gizmo and should be a straight fight with the P900. I'll pick your brains then!

Crocodile - 02 Oct 2003 22:22 - 2218 of 23498

Going to place my order for the XDA II, looks excellent

little willie - 02 Oct 2003 22:49 - 2219 of 23498

Socs I remember we used to have tanker loads of Old P. at our annual Fairport Cropredy re-union, oh the head aches after a w/end of that stuff,
luverly jubbley

Jeff..very honest of you to admit it, I've done the same recently with ATL who I recommended to Morose, I sold my stake for a reasonable profit, he bought and held, now coining it in.
I thought the P800 was the Volvo sports coupe that R.Moore aka 'The Saint' had in the tv series [remember black & White?] noo not the whisky...oh gawd!!

Vasey..no one's asked but wots the class about? Nothing vaguely erotic I suppose, belly dancing, reflexology [whoa boy!]

TIMbo..lot of talk about the World Cup out here; I already have two Cross of St George flags plus The Union Jack flying out on my balcony overlooking the 21st fairway, so everyone who plays is faced with them for their critical long second shot to the green, amazing how many balls seem to be flying off course into our lake! and two black caddies have asked me to get them the same England cap that I wear in all competitions; it really winds the Afrikaaners up..lol.
We're the team they all agree are favourites but I'm not counting my chucks just yet.
Off up the wooden hill, sleep well all.

Socrates - 02 Oct 2003 23:32 - 2220 of 23498

LW
I'm looking for a PDX replacement, not too many high tech ideas that are so innovative and practical too. I'll let you know when/if I find one. Mind you, PDX has a way to go yet I suspect.

snoball - 03 Oct 2003 13:57 - 2221 of 23498

Coffee and two jammy doughnuts covered with sugar please.

Socrates - 03 Oct 2003 17:42 - 2222 of 23498

Gutenabend aller, ist der Stab gefnet und die Getrke sind auf dem Haus.

Two Krispy Kreme doughnuts coming up.

jeffmack - 03 Oct 2003 19:13 - 2223 of 23498

little willie - 03 Oct 2003 20:18 - 2224 of 23498

Don't mention the war!

snoball - 03 Oct 2003 20:36 - 2225 of 23498

Good evening all, is the (cafe?) open and are the drinkers in the house?

It's been a long time since I tried to translate German. Those were the days.

Socrates - 03 Oct 2003 22:43 - 2226 of 23498

Babel Fish

snoball - 04 Oct 2003 01:32 - 2227 of 23498

Ah, that can produce some funny phrases but only in the language you dont know.
I like to translate English into the foreign, then see what happens when
I translate it back. Often hilarious.

jeffmack - 04 Oct 2003 09:02 - 2228 of 23498

Dont like babalfish, it gives some strange resilts. I use freetranslation.com

Socrates - 04 Oct 2003 09:24 - 2229 of 23498

Babel fish are OK, fried in batter with chips.

little willie - 04 Oct 2003 15:18 - 2230 of 23498

Are they with the long testiclews that you fry in batter; calamari?
