Docproc,
Thank you for your kind words - the best way to rise after a terrible day like yesterday is to try and get on as normal.

The BB seems to display the post before the first unread post now, which is good, but when the first unread post is at the start of the page it displays the opening post which is not right.

I'm on about where you are positioned on the page when you display a thread. If the first unread post is post 544 say, it seems to position on post 543. If the first unread post in post 541, i.e. the top of a page, it seems to position on post 1, which is wrong. Ideally it should position on post 540 with the following page showing as well but I guess you won't like that idea.

Don't bother! It's already positioning itself at the post before :-) I think it may be a side effect of when you changed the post numbering.
The problem is when the first unread post is at the start of a page, then it doesn't work.

I could still do with a button near to and just under the line so that I can quickly look at the previous post.
Ah well. Ours is not to reason why. Ours is..., well, I forget. ;-)
Anyhow, without one I have to go to the end of all the current postings, find the 'Earlier Posts' button and then click on that. All a bit irksome really.

Hmmm? True.
I'm not getting used to it because it's on the RHS, I suppose.

Would it be possible to force references to other sites/pages to open in a new window? I'm fed up with inadvertently shutting down MoneyAM when I've looked at a posted url, instead of using the 'back' button.
I know it can be done by adding target='_blank' to the reference tag, but would like you to consider the desirability/feasibility of doing it automatically within the 'chain' process.

I give up for now. Unless AM puts up a blow by blow account (as requested by Priscilla a while back) of how to stick a link up, they can bloody well stick it. I even checked the help and found it well out of date on most tihngs.
I'd persevere, but am far too busy at present.
WHY DID SOMEONE MAKE IT SO DIFFICULT WHEN THEY'D INITIALLY MADE IT SO EASY? I THINK WE'VE GOT A CASE OF HEAD-UP-ARSE SYNDROME
The mind boggles!

Oh, Al! Let me explain how the world works.
1. A female has a really good idea
2. Men ignore it
3. A man suggests the very same idea..... and
4. Everybody congratulates the man on having a brainwave!
So, do us all a favour and suggest the same idea. I guarantee it will be on the 'Priority: To Do' list and it'll all be sorted.
P.S. Can I send you a list of 'grizzles' that are still outstanding? I could do with a bloke suggesting fixes for them too!

Big Al/Priscilla,
I will pass on your comments to JT abbout this being difficult, but here is the definative answer to how to post a link.
Click the link symbol and enter the url in the box that appears - click OK and then click on the link button again.
Now before the final tag (HTML speak), which is a /a enter the text of your choice such as click here or the
name of the site before the final <
I appreciate that this is not as straight forward as what we used to have, and I will address this with JT

Just spoken to JT - he has been working on simpler version to enable links, and it will go live as soon as he has fully tested it. Therefore the issue will be closed very soon.

Maybe the 'Pip' explanation could be embedded somewhere where we can all find it. Such as when you click on 'Add Message' and this box comes up with 'Add a post to this thread'. A gap appears under ' You are posting as:' and the grey posting box. Perfect place for a few instructions, eh, Al?

Priscilla,
As Jonathan has a fix in development there would be no point changing the arcitecture at this point just to change it back. I Will let you know when he has put this in place.
