How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Thanks Steve,
Prob ring you tomorrow.
Couldn't resist the races at Wolverhampton. I know I shouldn't but they're good practice. Bagged another winner so improved my % gain.

Sorry Fundy couldn't stop laughing when Arsenal went 1-0 down in 30 secs. That's the quickest greening up ever I think. I'm not on the match itself just covering my Carling Cup winner position but couldn't believe my luck that I could cover after less than a minute!! Win, win now.

Uefa set to launch betting probe
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/4062519.stm
I was watching the drama unfold on Betfair and such was the pattern of betting that it was obvious something was up. The match played out exactly as the odds dictated. The forums on Betfair were awash with people predicting the flow of the match and remarkably (though it shouldn't be) the match followed the pre set betting patterns. So obvious, that somebody is surely going to get found out for this. Incredible stuff.
For posterity I kept a copy of the betting patterns to document at some point in the future. Similar patterns are developing in the Lazio match tonight but not so distinct so I think this may be the madness of crowds after last night.

I considered punting some money on it but won't have anything to do with anything suspect so just watched it from a distance.

You can watch the Lazio match live on the internet. Works really well over broadband. Commentary in Italian though. Delay is around 15 seconds at my end.

17 races again today.
4 winners
1 loser
12 draws
Made a decent profit considering my bet sizes.
Problem I'm having is my bets are too small to 'geen up'.
Once I'm more confident, I'll up my stakes enabling me to green up. Then the number of draws should reduce and the winners increase

Scrip,
Just wondered what you thought of the card today
I found it a little hard going at times with a lot of races not showing a clear favourite.

What's the general tactic with footy matches ? Do you just trade them based on POM ? Or do you go into a match betting in favour of the most probable outcome and try to trade out if it doesn't turn out as planned ?

There is some interesting and slightly complicated betting/laying stuff on I'm a Celebrity GMOOH to be done when playing the Top Woman/Top Man scenario as a hedge against other bets. Useful training.
Edit: Am now greened up on either Sophie or Janet winning Top Woman.
PS. Considered a bet on Paul winning this one. Couldn't get the odds I wanted and so had to leave it out. ;-)

14:35 Tingle Creek Chase, will be a cracker. If you are on only one race today let this one be it. I will be maxed out on this one.
