I'm an unlucky guy, and I'll tell you why,
I just bought my kitchen from MFI!
My mortgage was held with the Northern Rock,
All my investments in Lehman Brothers stock.
So Bradford and Bingley were my new chosen investor,
Who procured my shares in Alliance and Leicester.
In financial desperation,
I moved my money to another nation.
So all my cash for a rainy day,
Was lodged with Freddie Mac and Fanny May!
They sold my funds without my knowing,
To keep their bad debt pile from growing.
And now I'm told that my personal pension,
is in a bank I shouldn't mention.
In Icesave where interest rates were bold
My money has gone in the cold.
But Gordon Brown is saying 'don't you worry',
Please don't remove your cash in such a hurry.
And now the cash point on the wall,
Advises me I have no cash at all!
But a message on the small display,
Tells me I can have a nice big loan today!

HI ALL BACK AGAIN LOL. I HAVE DECIDED GIVE SOME ADVICE WHICH IS RARE I JUST VOICE THINGS BUT DON'T OFFER ADVICE. OKAY THE PRICE OF THE FTSE IS APPROX 4100 RIGHT NOW AND YES IT COULD HIT 2700'S BUT IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO COVER TO ZERO SO 4000 AT 1 PER POINT WILL COVER EVERYTHING AND YOU WILL STILL GET SOME INTEREST FOR HOLDING SHORT IF IT GOES TO ZERO. YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I MEAN. THE FTSE WILL NOT DISAPPEAR UNLESS MANKIND DISAPPEARS TOO. SO IF YOU BUY NOW OR LOWER AND HOLD FOR THE FUTURE, YOU CAN SECURE A TIDY NEST EGG FOR YOUR CHILDREN YOURSELF OR WHATEVER. IT WILL GO BACK UP FOR SURE JUST DON'T GET TOO GREEDY AND OVERSTRETCH YOURSELF.

Her-indoors has just returned from an early "lunch with the ladies", she had costoletas do cordeiro, whatever that is!

Spaceman - 10 Oct 2008 12:54 - 23258 of 24230

Morning all, still on the hunt for a decent cuppa, might get over to the UN and try the place Jeff mentioned yesterday.

Would go for the DIY option but we dont have a kettle in the room, they dont like kettle in the US.

Rose Space centre today and then of up into Long Island for the weekend.

KEAYDIAN - 10 Oct 2008 13:09 - 23259 of 24230

(puff puff puff)

Socrates - 10 Oct 2008 13:21 - 23260 of 24230

Spacie, looks like you are going to have to settle for a Camping Gaz stove and tea bag then. I'm sure they would just love that in your five star hotel!

Spaceman - 10 Oct 2008 13:28 - 23261 of 24230

oops ....

Spaceman - 10 Oct 2008 13:28 - 23262 of 24230

oops again ......

Spaceman - 10 Oct 2008 13:28 - 23263 of 24230

Socs, I could alwasy use some of the crap wooden furnature and light a camp fire in the room.

And its not a 5* hotel, its 3/4 and it still costs an arm and a leg to saty here ;-)

Socrates - 10 Oct 2008 13:31 - 23264 of 24230

So fellow cafe persons, a thought came to mind, when will the mass resignations and firings of bank board members and executives begin? After all, they have been claiming huge wages and bonuses on the basis of doing a wonderful job, when it actually turns out they have pushed many ordinary folk into penury by their greed and, dare I say it, incompetence.

Of course I am fearful that after the dust settles, they will all claim huge bonuses on the basis that they kept the banks afloat in such hard times. Cynical, moi?

Lunch is ready, chicken in a basket with chips OK?

Socrates - 10 Oct 2008 13:33 - 23265 of 24230

Spacie, I love it, I've never heard of a three quarter star hotel before. Maybe I'll wait till they get the other quarter before I stay there.

Socks the dust has started to settle already judging by the state of the glass I was given for my Coke or is Bunny slacking at the washing up again. Put an ad in for a bankrupt banker to help.

Socrates - 10 Oct 2008 19:58 - 23269 of 24230

Bankrupt Banker is surely an oxymoron?
