Israeli Gaza conflict?????? (GAZA)

Fred1new - 06 Jan 2009 19:21

Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?

If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?

Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?

What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

When I saw on the previous evening that the ship had set sail, I was expecting an outcome similar to the actual one. It is clear that Hamas are getting smarter in their use of the media and will increasingly put Israel in the position of being the agressor. This situation was one where Israel could not win. Their strategy was probably the worst thay could have chosen and was a PR gift. I can think of a number of new scenarios where Israel are going to come off worse. Unless Israel negociate with more consessions such as dismantling illegal settlements, they are going to become more isolated. Now that Hamas have seen the power of their new strategy you can expect more of the same. It doesn't help Israel that they have a very right wing Prime Minister. It doesn't help that he was a commander of a commano unit. Force seems to suit his style of government.

Clubman - you played it, not I.

Do you not remember posting this on the BP thread a few days ago?

Hole now capped according to Bloomberg jew times. Waiting to see if it holds.

It's pretty damning for you. What did you mean by it? Feel free to defend your statement as anything other than anti-semitic.

Haystack - what you going to boycott first? Your pentium chips? Your mobile phone? Microsoft windows? Drugs such as Exelon for Alzheimers and dementia? and the new drugs coming out for chronic schizophrenia? I think you, more than most, need to think very carefully before you boycott any of these products.

Haystack - 01 Jun 2010 14:42 - 2371 of 6906

We can just start by boycotting Israeli produce such as fruit and veg. Chips are made in plenty of places and so are mobile phones and there are other drugs available.

Here we go!

Majed Al-Zeer, the director general of the Palestinian return center, has revealed that the international campaign to end the siege on Gaza has started preparing a new aid flotilla to Gaza Strip that would sail within six weeks.

Ban bagels, and make the Isreal government eat bacon butties

Haystack - 01 Jun 2010 14:49 - 2374 of 6906

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has ordered the border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip to be opened.

So we'll only boycott things we can readily get elsewhere? Stuff that doesn't inconvenience us?

Meanwhile we'll let the royalties on the israeli designed stuff we really need keep flowing?

I love champagne socialism.

Why not boycott Israeli produce. Why would I want to delivberately inconvenience myself? I haven't bought a mobile phone or a PC for several years, but I buy fruit and veg constantly.

Ban those silly little hats they wear on the back of their heads

Clubman - do you think your "I'm not a racist" defence is going well? Do you think it's doing wonders for your credibility?

Haystack - 01 Jun 2010 14:58 - 2380 of 6906

Israel is dependant on exports of fruit and veg to finance the domestic consumption. Without the exports, the farmers could not survive on just sales within the country.

Haystack - 01 Jun 2010 15:00 - 2381 of 6906

Clubman
It all has nothing to do with Israel being Jewish. It is a rogue state and would still be no matter what its religion or ethnicity. Jews are the pleasantist of peoople. Militant Zionists are not.

Clubman3509 - 01 Jun 2010 15:01 - 2382 of 6906

They did wrong ausie do you not agree

Clubman3509 - 01 Jun 2010 15:05 - 2383 of 6906

Now they kill three more in another attack

Gausie - 01 Jun 2010 15:08 - 2384 of 6906

Clubbie - please address me by my full title - Rabbi Ausie.

The outcome was a disaster - but no, I don't think they did wrong. I think they had a series of bad options to chose from and they picked what was probably the least worst. It is now clear that the violence from the militants on board the ship was inevitable. Had Israel waited until broad daylight on Monday, when the flotilla was in Israeli waters then I believe there would have been more casualties.

Haystack - 01 Jun 2010 15:11 - 2385 of 6906

Lets see how they handle the next flotilla.

Clubman3509 - 01 Jun 2010 15:15 - 2386 of 6906

Stick your title where the sun don't shine Robbie

Haystack

It'll be a tough call.

We know they'll start with a dozen or so warnings. But what then?

Personally, I'd have a tough choice between the torpedo and the exocet options.
