The Queen, setting out the government's legislative programme for the year ahead in a speech written for her by ministers, said its "first priority" remains strengthening Britain's economy, and it would "continue to prioritise measures that reduce the deficit".

She added: "It will also work to promote a fairer society that rewards people who work hard."

The Queen said an immigration bill would aim to "ensure that this country attracts people who will contribute and deter those who will not".



Probably means;-

1) We will really screw up the economy
2) We will give a few more bob to our mates in the city and tax relief to high "earners" and raise inheritance tax levels
3) We will invite a few more Russian and Italian mafia to London and invite Ashcroft back by arranging taxation for his benefit.
4) Continue inheritance dodge tax by Royalty.
5) Support or subsidise the royal family for the coming years.

I was in Westminster before 10 this morning. The traffic and and the crush of tourists was terrible. All the roads in the area were closed.
