Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

what about protecting them from white uk citizens?
what's your smartarse solution now?
i wonder if you talk any more sense if you're ever sober, or is this all in your genes?
if so, you should be deported from where that indicates you originated

The guy deported to the UK from Australia was born in the UK and had lived in Australia for 41 years. He was not born in Australia.

morning stan ... just tucking into my kosher ham sarnie :-)
a synopsis of the deportation story ....
Clifford Tucker, 47, has been expelled after the Australian government cancelled his visa over a series of crimes, including attempted murder ........ His family emigrated when he was six but he never became a citizen ......... As a teenager, Tucker was jailed for 12 years for shooting and seriously wounding a police officer. Speaking to the Australian newspaper before he was deported, he said: "I'm not a career criminal, I haven't committed any crimes since 1999 other than a minor assault"
=============
so he was born in 1966 and thus ceased being a teenager in 1986 but hasn't committed any (serious) crimes since 1999, so he's not a career criminal!

This s not the only one to have been been 'returned'. A few years ago they did have a nast sex offender, who after his sentence was sent back to us for safe keeping
I cannot remember further details.

Human rights law in the UK would stop it because he had a family. It is about the human rights aspect of a right to a family life. It has stopped similar deportations. The EU at work again.

EU laws don't seem to stop France deporting their unwanted for some reason, Haystack. I read an article in some newspaper explaining why and now I can't find it!

From what my Auusie friends say, the first to be deported if they had their way would be the P.M. amd she is Welsh stock.

Bob Hope's mum was from Barry too and I think he may have lived there for a while as a kid.
Met him when he paid a visit in the early eighties , was a nice chap.

The Bank of England has upgraded its economic growth forecast and said that inflation should fall faster than previously predicted.
In his last inflation report as the Bank's governor, Sir Mervyn King said inflation should drop to its target of 2% within two years.
Sir Mervyn said that "a recovery is in sight".Presenting the inflation report, Sir Mervyn said: "Today's projections are for growth to be a little stronger and inflation a little weaker than we expected three months ago.
"That's the first time I've been able to say that since before the financial crisis.
The rate of inflation is now forecast to drop to its target of 2% within two years, whereas in February the Bank said inflation would fall to 2.3% in the same period.
Economic growth this year is now expected to be greater than 1%, up from the Bank's previous estimate of 0.9%.
Sir Mervyn said: "This hasn't been a typical recession and it won't be a typical recovery. Nevertheless, a recovery is in sight."

I think that is a Merv's swerve to odd friends in the hope of of Baronetcy.
A pity he didn't see the Economic crunch coming in 2006 like many did.
The more important is unemployment figures.
What is the quote from head quarters on that.
------------
I hope that the recovery in sight is not a mirage.

A&E units are struggling due to increases in demand. One of the biggest causes is the contracts that the Labour government agreed with GPs in 2004. Not only did the new contracts give GPs a massive pay rise, it it meant that they could completely opt out of out of hours care at night and at weekends.
Yet another Labour mess to clear up.
