Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

dell314,

no, not a trick question, we have an HTML page for stockwatch too.

I am also doing the exact same experiement, though at the moment there has been no new news for any of my stocks (typical)

Spook: Still getting the Terminal logon problem. As before, I get this below, and then it goes to the MAM logon page.

Something new on above - I didn't log straight back in because I was preparing above. Went back to Termina (where the Logon page was in about 3 panes) and it had automatically logged itself in. Odd.

BrianTrayda,

Have you tried disabled script debugging in IE?

Briantrayda,

I have forwarded your message to the development team along with your screenshot.

when I get any news, i'll get back to you.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 30 Sep 2004 10:05 - 2600 of 7315

BrianTrayda,

Are you only viewing MoneyAM screens in your terminal, or do you have third party sites in them?

BrianTrayda - 30 Sep 2004 10:08 - 2601 of 7315

Spook: Debug: that's the odd thing. It's off, and the screenshot is not the normal "sript error, do you want to debug?" message. Screenshot is something I only see in the Terminal session. It's not the same as the standard IE script debug error form which I can see on general webpages (the world, not you) when I switch "debug messages" back on.

BrianTrayda - 30 Sep 2004 10:12 - 2602 of 7315

They are all MAM terminal items in 1 Terminal session (on 1 screen), and another 2 screens (vertical) have a large Terminal session that has a link to my Pivot table in 1 Pane (that's never shown the problem and it's static and never refreshed). I almost always load other website pages into a seperate standard IE window.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 30 Sep 2004 10:32 - 2603 of 7315

BrianTrayda,

'access denied' errors on javascript occur when some javascript is trying to amend something in a frame which is loaded from a different domain.

I am still waiting for a reply from the developers tho.

Re BPRG:

I wonder if someone in the data team could please clean up the candles chart on BPRG. There a couple of nasty looking spikes getting through. Thanks John

BrianTrayda - 30 Sep 2004 10:50 - 2605 of 7315

Spook: If it's any help it's View 1618 and 1802

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 30 Sep 2004 13:11 - 2606 of 7315

johngtudor,

should be done.

Thanks TulletJ. Appreciate your help. John

Spooky: Think I can shed some light on the Terminal logon problem.
Try this one first - outside of Terminal and using normal IE.
Create 2 shortcuts on your desktop. One to the News and the other to Traders Room (both need logons).
Start first - it brings up logon page. Do not logon.
Start second - ditto.
On first click logon, and now click logon on second.
Result is that original requested pages swap over.

Now apply that concept to Terminal. 2 Terminals started and, for whatever reason, the connection to the MAM Terminal server(s) goes really slow (which is does) and some of the Pane's lose their connection. They automatically try to re-connect but in the process swap over as per the above example. They are then "talking" to the wrong thing and get the Access Denied.

This is exactly what I saw, and even to the extend that the Pane content swapped over.

Refreshing the Pane manually (with Pane button) re-syncs everything.

BrianTrayda,

That makes sense. The page you requested before hitting the login is saved internally by the application servers so it knows where to through you back to.

if you hit two pages, without loggnig in, then the second one will override the first one.

I will forward this onto the developers.
